Robert P. George Reminds Us That We Are Pilgrim People… 2017-01-24T17:12:18-05:00 Frank Weathers

LOGO Patheos Explore the world's faith through different perspectives on religion and spirituality! Patheos has the views of the prevalent religions and spiritualities of the world.

And that our lives must be lived as a sign to the world. A sign that contradicts the norms of the world as surely as when Jesus proclaimed the following before surreptitiously heading to the Feast of Tabernacles in the seventh chapter of John’s gospel.

“The world cannot hate you, but it hates me, because I testify to it that its works are evil.”

Well, he said that before long before the Last Supper. He clarified things there, see?

“If the world hates you, realize that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, the world would love its own; but because you do not belong to the world, and I have chosen you out of the world, the world hates you.

Remember the word I spoke to you,‘No slave is greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours. And they will do all these things to you on account of my name, because they do not know the one who sent me.

If you are a Catholic Christian and you’ve never heard about the cost of discipleship, consider the next half hour your wake up call.
