Day 4: Discover The Pose
Last updated on: August 13, 2013 at 8:56 am By David Matthew Brown
Day 4: Discover The Pose Today I continue on to day 4 of 30 straight days of hot yoga. Before practice started I laid down on my mat and closed my eyes. The room was quiet and I focused my attention on my breath coming into my nostrils and out. As I did this an idea floated into my mind, “Discover the pose today”, then I thought, “Discover life.” How many times am I planning ahead? How many times am... Read more

Day 3: Moksha “No Breath, No Yoga”
Last updated on: August 13, 2013 at 8:56 am By David Matthew Brown
Day 3 on my 30 straight days of hot yoga at Moksha in Los Angeles, California on La Brea. Today started off on my mat with wonderful strength, and inner power formed and maintained with my breath. The breath works to ignite, enliven, and move the body. I love that we are encouraged to breath and let the breath take us deeper. Our teacher today Joe played some cool tunes and mentioned, “No breath, no yoga.” That really helped to... Read more

Moksha LA Day 2: Getting My Sweat On!
Last updated on: August 13, 2013 at 8:56 am By David Matthew Brown
Day 2 on my 30 straight days at Moksha continued today…today’s practice was filled with music…I continued to play with my breath allowing me to dive into the poses, Moksha is hot yoga, so you bring a towel…at one point in the practice we were working on hips…I felt my mind very active and it was at this moment I became aware of myself gripping my towel like a baby holding his blanket. I smiled. The power of the breath... Read more

Day 1: Moksha and I
Last updated on: August 13, 2013 at 8:59 am By David Matthew Brown
Today as I walked down to Moksha Yoga, there were overcast clouds, a nice breeze and my thoughts. As I continued to walk to my first class, I felt like setting an intention, I would focus on my breath and no matter what happened, I would rest in the breath. Some back history on my yoga experience, I found yoga in 1999 after I went to the doctor, that year the doctor explained I had high blood pressure and a... Read more

And the Oscar goes too…?
Last updated on: July 8, 2013 at 10:52 am By David Matthew Brown
Think of 5-10 people you would give an Oscar too and send them this: "And the Oscar for compassion, kindness, and love goes too......(NAME) I am giving you this Oscar to let you know I see you, care about you, love you, and appreciate you. I know that you may think you are not seen or heard, but you are, and I celebrate you! All of you! Not a day goes by that I am not thankful that you are in my world. Love you" Read more

A Smile
Last updated on: July 5, 2013 at 8:46 am By David Matthew Brown
A Smile Author Unknown A smile costs nothing, but gives much- It takes but a moment, but the memory of it usually lasts forever. None are so rich that can get along without it- And none are so poor but that can be made rich by it. It enriches those who receive, without making poor those who give- It creates sunshine in the home, Fosters good will in business, And is the best antidote for trouble- And yet it cannot... Read more

Soar my friend...life is short in this body temple...you could go today, tomorrow, whenever it happens...don't be arrogant with your time here...laugh, laugh more, and give up unkind ways toward yourself and others...and remember, "The greatest discovery on this planet is who you really are", discover that and you will see me as well and we are one! Witness To The Crime
Last updated on: July 1, 2013 at 10:31 am By David Matthew Brown
Lately the news is all about what people witnessed. In fact who we actual are is the witness. We are witnessing our thoughts, our bodies, life outside the windows of our eyes. So in meditation as we meditate on the breath, the simple rise and fall of life itself right where you are, we begin to witness several things happening, the thoughts coming and going, the body itself, and so it continues. Yet as the witness we engage the thoughts... Read more
