Day 48 of 90 straight days of hot yoga at Moksha Yoga LA.  I was reminded today of the simplicity of the word “Hello”.  When was the last time you simply just sat next to someone and said, “Hello.” But instead we are always concerned, “How is your day going? What to you do for a living? How are you doing?” In yoga we meet every pose with “Hello”, then we are silent with it and rest in the gift it is giving us. The poses don’t change, our interpretations of the poses changes.  Have you ever sat with someone, and said, “Hello” and then just sat there in the silence and rested in your own insecurity with space, with the silence, with wanting to add something, change them, and just sat there enjoying the space.

Today in class our teacher Joe brought forth some gems, including that the breath will get you through anything in life. It is strong and amazing.  Yoga reminds me of a beautiful rose, as the rose is growing we don’t yell at the rose to grow faster, change, be different, or be what we want it to be, no in fact we accept it. We accept that the rose is growing and we are patient with it.

So how come when we are growing and moving through things, we yell at ourselves, try to push through it, change it, be different, why is a rose different from who we are? The same is true about the word, “Hello”. Why does it matter what some one does for a living? Why does it matter if they are having a good day or bad day? Does that change how we are with them? If they say they are famous, am I different with them? If they say they are homeless am I different with them? If they say they are having a difficult day, or great day, does that change me?  When we say, “Hello” we are really saying, “Love”.  And love meets itself right where it is, and accepts itself here. Just like yoga practice. Nothing to change, fix, just simply, “Hello Warrior pose” or Hello Down dog”.  Then with our breath the adjustments happen in their own time.We are, each of us, like a beautiful rose growing in our own time under the sun.

Final note, I started a 3 day juice cleanse today with the help of Clover Juice. I am only 7 hours into it. I feel great and I am drinking tons of water and the juice so far is fantastic. I am about to drink a afternoon snack of Carrot, Apple, and Ginger.  It is bright orange and vibrant.  I started this juice fast because I read that our bodies hold 5-10 pounds of toxins in our intestines and I just about fell off my chair.  I also love that I woke up and drank a juice called Rev’d up it packed a power punch and really woke me up. It lasted longer than the coffee I normally drink. So far so good. Learn more by going to their site. On to day 49…Namaste
