LOGO Patheos Explore the world's faith through different perspectives on religion and spirituality! Patheos has the views of the prevalent religions and spiritualities of the world.

Kids 2-5

We have a special set of pre-screened volunteers dedicated to this high energy group. Programming will be available from 10am-12pm and 2pm-4pm on Saturday and Sunday of the Festival for parents who want to spend a couple hours enjoying the festival.

Kids 6-12

The minute you walk into the Wild Goose Kids space you’ll know that this festival isn’t just for adults. Kids will find themselves immersed in activities that capture the imagination and stir up creativity. This time has been intentionally designed to give them a chance to make friends, build community and express their God-given creativity.

Every session is intentionally themed as we explore creativity, family, identity, justice and their role in God’s Kingdom. They will join other members of their flock group (age appropriate small groups) for learning, discovery, storytelling, worship and community.

Our desire is to see kids walk away confident in their identity and inspired to share God’s love. (By the way…each flock group is overseen by a screened adult volunteer!)

Kids Team:

The Kid’s Team is headed by Erika Abdelatif. She is a storyteller, dreamer and lover of words. She is currently the Director of Family Ministry at ROCKHARBOR Church in Fullerton, CA and is passionate about social justice, the arts and naptime. It is her belief that all people—kids included!—have a unique role to play in God’s story and lives to help others discover their part, and empower them to bring God’s kingdom here to earth. In her rare moments of free time, she blogs at thetreeswillclap.com.

Wild Goose Youth

Students who join us for Wild Goose Youth programs this year are in for a weekend of fun and meaningful connection. We know its important to get to know each other a bit and play a LOT (think NIGHT GAMES, people!), and we also value this time as an opportunity to make some meaningful connections with ourselves, others, and God.

We will have a home base set up in the Youth Studio, with space for conversation & creativity, but don’t get too comfortable there – our goal is to experience Wild Goose with the whole community, not just other youth. The team has worked hard to strike a balance between specialized youth programs and finding aspects of the festival that invite – no, NEED – student participation and collaboration.
Wild Goose Youth Programming Overview:

Kick-Off & Parents’ Open House – Friday evening we will invite families with youth to join us in the Youth Studio to meet our leaders and get a glimpse of what we have planned for the weekend. Students are encouraged to stick around as we kick-off the festival together!

Late Night – Wild Goose Youth will gather after the main session Friday & Saturday (around 10pm) for epic outdoor games & chill art projects, boardgames, and conversation in the Youth Studio!

10am Midrash – We’re kicking off Saturday & Sunday morning with a chance to delve into the stories of exile & return in Scripture through some honest teaching and conversation!

Exile & Return – Each afternoon we will have an opportunity for students to engage in the themes of Exile and Return with their whole selves – body, spirit, mind, and heart.

Special Guests – We are hoping to get some quality time with some of the Speakers and Musicians from the Main Stage late Saturday and Sunday afternoon. Stay tuned!

***Parents: We love you and your student! We will take great care of them when they’re with us, but we are not baby-sitters. While on campus, your teen & their whereabouts are your responsibility.

Youth Packing List:

There are a few things you might love to bring if you’re a teenager.

Flashlight / Headlamp

Bible & Journal

Art Supplies (we will have a bunch, but if you are wanting something special, feel free!)

Games – board games, card games, frisbees, soccer balls, footballs, etc.

Guitars, Djembes, etc. if you want to jam (you’re responsible for them while at the festival)

Youth Team:

Morgan Schmidt is the Youth Team Leader for Wild Goose West. She is joined by her team from Youth Collective, and together they have created an intentional and integrated program for the teenagers and those who care about them at this year’s festival.

Morgan the founder and director of Youth Collective, a collaborative, ecumenical student ministry initiative based in Seattle, WA. She is passionate about cultivating adolescents’ desire to be whole people who participate in the kingdom of God through embodied liturgy, dialogical teaching, kingdom imagination and incarnate justice. Through her work as a pastor and consultant with Youth Collective, she facilitates conversations with local faith communities around inviting and integrating students into the whole life of their church and neighborhood.

You can meet Morgan and/or the Youth Collective on Facebook, or contact her directly at [email protected]
