What She Said

Anna Quinn

Anna solved the “what are you going to do with an English major, dear?” question by working as an editor at a publishing house, thus ruining the book-making mystique. Eventually she exchanged reviewing blue lines for reading Goodnight Moon and Runaway Bunny. After living in San Francisco, she and her family returned home to middle Tennessee, where she is inordinately involved in church and school volunteering, fundraising (chocolate, anyone?), and chauffeuring. She is learning to say “no” and prays that maybe, occasionally, she throws some decent mothering into the mix. Writing still holds a mystique, and Anna now employs her Vanderbilt University degree writing book reviews and cultural articles for the e-zine Six Seeds.tv.

She and her husband, Thomas, have been married for seventeen years and have four children, two boys and two girls, ranging in age from five to thirteen. She’s thrilled that the youngest is now in kindergarten—most of the time. Sometimes, Anna realizes this newfound freedom means less “snuggle up” time and that she should have a cleaner house. In the midst of all of the busyness– cross country, ballet, baseball, work, and play, Anna and Thomas hope that they are “running the good race,” pointing their children and themselves to God, and falling back on His grace over and over again.
