- What I’m leaving behind
What I’m leaving behind

What I’m leaving behind 2011-12-29T11:35:28-05:00 Trish Ryan
Patheos Explore the world's faith through different perspectives on religion and spirituality! Patheos has the views of the prevalent religions and spiritualities of the world.
A friend of mine just posted this quote from on Twitter:
“I don’t know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody.”
This is what I most want to remember in the coming year: My job is to please God. And when I get out of the way and just follow His suggestions, it’s not nearly as difficult as one would expect. The doing part is (relatively) easy…it’s the angsting about what to do (should I/shouldn’t I, will they/won’t they, what if…?) that’s tough. And God doesn’t call me to angst. So I’m setting that down here, on this third-to last day of 2011.
What do you want to leave behind with God as you start the new year?
