This week the big news was the Colorado Supreme Court blocking the leading Republican candidate from being on the ballot. True to character, whenever the candidate doesn’t get what he wants he calls everyone else evil.
Just like he did along with his MAGA conspirators on January 6th, 2021. Part of being an adult is understanding we don’t always get what we want, especially in politics. That is why we have a three-party system despite what the power-hungry MAGA tries to say.

- Republican
- Democrat
- Independent (Libertarian)
Neither party offers everything everyone wants or agrees with. We must choose the party that best represents our beliefs and accept those of the other parties. Still, we never get everything we want even if a candidate promises to do so. And we must accept the outcome if things don’t go our way.
As I write this, billions of people around the world are waiting anxiously to see what Santa Claus will bring them for Christmas. Even children have to accept that they may not get what they want. They don’t get to go off and threaten to kill Santa Claus because he didn’t give them what they wanted.

Folklore states that St. Nicholas was a monk in modern-day Turkey who inherited his parents’ wealth in 80 A.D. he lived a humble life and had a giving spirit, traveling the countryside to give to the less fortunate.

The similarities to Jesus are quite obvious, Jesus although not rich in a worldly sense, humbled Himself to save and serve those who couldn’t save themselves (Philippians 2:6-8.) Most people know the Christmas story of how God sent His Son into the world as a humble servant to save humanity from its sin (Isaiah 7:14, Galatians 4:4-5.)
Melek Ha-Mashiach
For hundreds of years, Israel awaited their promised Savior the Melek Ha-Mashiach to redeem God’s people and establish His kingdom on the earth. Melekh Mashiach means the anointed King which refers back to the Hebrew custom of anointing kings. This anointing is symbolic of God’s calling to serve Him.
The prophet Isaiah called Him a light unto the nations (Isaiah 9:2; 42:6.) The Jewish people had a lot of hope and expectations about their Messiah, they ultimately expected God to do what they wanted Him to do.
- He would be a male descendant of David.
- He would be fully human.
- He will be the perfect teacher.
- He will be a great political leader.
- He will be a great military leader.
- Rule over humanity with kindness.
- Bring peace to the world.
- Unite humanity.
- Restore Israel to greatness.
- He will be a great judge.
Despite Jesus fulfilling over 300 Jewish prophecies, God’s people rejected Him just like God said they would (Psalm 118:22, Isaiah 53: 3, Micah 5:2.) Israel rejected Jesus because He wasn’t what they wanted or expected their King to be.

Our Jewish forefathers had their eyes fixed on what they wanted. They didn’t see the bigger plan God had to save humanity. They forgot their call to be different from this fallen world. They didn’t like or agree with what Jesus had to say. He proclaimed God’s will and not theirs.
Proclaim
Like Jesus, God’s people are called to prclaim God’s will since we are His representatives in this fallen world. As the light of the world, we are to speak out against the darkness of it (Ephesians 5:11.) It’s not about telling people what they want to hear, it’s about proclaiming the truth of God.

We live in a happy, only be positive society; that is not the truth. Just like in a relationship, we don’t always get what we want. When the bride focuses on what she wants, corruption follows.
- Greed
- Selfishness
- Pride
- Impatience
Like the millions of children waiting for Santa to arrive, God’s people need to wait for His best. God isn’t a politician trying to make people happy. God’s best will be an eternal kingdom ruled by the Melek Ha-Mashiach!
