Everyone needs an easy yes or no method for tarot readings. Sometimes you need a quick and simple answer, and you don’t have the time or other things needed for a full reading. It is possible to do a yes or no reading with other divination methods,  such as the pendulum or by throwing coins. In the end choose whatever works best for you.

Aces Is Aces – Yes + No Tarot Readings

This divination method uses the whole deck, or at least most of it. Be sure before you start that your deck is well shuffled and mixed. Some psychic readers do this by shuffling the deck and cutting it three times to the left, with your left hand. But use whatever method feels right to you. When reading for others professionally a few people accused me of arranging the cards in a certain way before they sat down. This presumes I would even know which cards to pick. Since then I got in the habit of letting people shuffle however they like when they come to me for a reading.

Legba’s Cane – Open + Closed

In the religion of New Orleans Voodoo the keeper of the crossroads is known as Papa Legba. Legba’s domain is doors and doorways. This simple two card tarot reading will show you what is helping to open the door to your question and what is stopping you. Shuffle the cards well. Place one card in front of your right hand and one card in front of your left hand. The card on the right will be the things that help you get a yes for your question, and the card on the left will help close the door to your question.

Wands, Swords, Cups + Pentacles

In order to do yes or no tarot readings this way you will need to take out all the Major Arcana cards from your deck and do a reading with the ones that are left. After you have done this shuffle the cards and say your question aloud. Draw one card from the deck. If the card is a Wand or a Sword the answer is yes. Alternatively if the card is a Cup or a Pentacle the answer is a no.
