I had a lot of fun making my Christmas present for my gentleman caller this year, and, since it’s no longer a secret project, I think I can share it now. The first thing I quite admired about him was his Dungeons and Dragons worldbuilding (he ended up using me as the basis for a major villain, which I think was a compliment), so when I saw io9’s post about Dice Dragons (ornamental dragons that hold your DnD dice), I took a crack at a full set. (By the way, in the course of writing these takes, I found an entertaining essay on DnD dice notation).
This little guy is in charge of my young swain’s d4:

I used Call of Cthulhu dice for the dragon set, both because he likes Lovecraft and because the dice lettering glows in the dark. I used glow in the dark Sculpey to match, so anywhere you see white on a dragon, that piece glows brightly when the lights are off. Which is one of several reasons the d6 dragon wound up being my favorite:

The d8 dragon was the first one I made, though, since I figured it would be easier to learn working bigger, but my two largest dragons presented additional complexities, for reasons that will become clear.
— 4 —
Somehow I feel like the d10 dragon wound up being the Percy Weasley of the family, always a bit aggrieved and pompous, but that may be because I gave him the fussiest spikes.
— 5 —
Finally, I made the d12 and d20 dragons together, because I wanted their postures to compliment each other.
— 6 —
And here’s the whole family lined up together:

I was able to do this, because Becca Golins has generously put up a video tutorial on how to make these little guys. She has a beautiful gallery on DeviantArt, but her Etsy shop is nearly always sold out, so she put up the walkthrough and a helpful FAQ, so people could shift for themselves if they took a mind to. I’m very grateful for her generosity. Plus, just based on the video, she seems to be charming.
