Last updated on: December 26, 2017 at 9:36 am   By Tom Hobson

It was not an “inn” where there was no room for Jesus’ birth. The proof is in Mark 14:14 (Luke 22:11), where Jesus books the same kind of place to eat the Last Supper. Read more

Last updated on: December 19, 2017 at 11:53 am   By Tom Hobson

Are there logical grounds for the virgin birth of Jesus? Is it a pious legend, discredited by modern science? Was it a whopper designed to top the claims of pagan religions? Was it a lame attempt to cover up an embarrassing secret in a gullible age? Read more

The Stoning of Naboth and Today’s Rush to Judgment

Last updated on: December 6, 2017 at 2:13 pm   By Tom Hobson

We see a hideous rush to judgment in the stoning of Naboth in 1 Kings 21. Likewise, we see a similar rush to judgment in today’s knee-jerk dismissals of those who are accused of sexual misconduct. Read more

Oppression: Stomping on the Powerless

Last updated on: November 26, 2017 at 5:58 pm   By Tom Hobson

Oppression is when powerless people get stomped on by those who have legal, political, or economic power. God’s law commands us repeatedly not to “oppress” the widow, the orphan, or the alien, the groups who were the most vulnerable to exploitation.
