Love, Wisdom, and Power-Part 2

Power (Acts 1:8 )

With power comes great responsibility. We have the power to edify or destroy, and that’s just with our words. Imagine what we can do with our determination and physical strength. But even deeper still, with the Holy Spirit.

I have the Holy Spirit. What’s your superpower?

The Holy Spirit gives us power so we can be witnesses of Jesus. In Mark 4, we see that all of His disciples fled the scene when Jesus was taken captive to be beaten and crucified.  Because they did not have the Holy Spirit, they did not have the power to stand for truth.

To overcome sin, we must walk by the Spirit (Galatians 5:16). Sin will overpower our lives and keep our eyes off Jesus, but, with the Holy Spirit as our guide, we get to walk with our heads held high.

The Holy Spirit will change our very character

Before I met the Holy Spirit, I was mean. I could cuss like a sailor, and it wasn’t unheard of for me to berate you in front of others just to get my way. At age 16, when I gave my life to Christ, all that changed, and my friends were astounded. When you give The Holy Spirit control of your life, people notice.

John 16:13 reminds us that the Holy Spirit will guide us into all truth. He gives us the ability to see the truth. Feel the truth. Know the truth. He gives us discernment to recognize the truth – a superpower if I may.

When we are at a loss for words and don’t know how to speak with God, the Holy Spirit leads the way. He teaches us to pray. He even prays for us. (Romans 8:26)

Knowing I serve Love who gave up His only son, Wisdom, who in turn sent Power to assist me in this life, is the only Hope I need in this world full of hate.

With this Holy Trinity at my ready, who then, could be against me? (Romans 8:31)
