What Pope Benedict Means to Me (by my 11 year old daughter)

Last updated on: February 28, 2013 at 7:00 am   By Leticia Adams

Flea is my youngest daughter. Flea has been her nickname since she was a baby and I’m using that for her name as my guest blogger for this post. Flea has always been something else. She was a preemie, but you would never know it. She has always been a firecracker since she is the baby of 4 and the only girl. And she has me as a mother. Flea is everything that I always wanted to be. She is... Read more

Lent, my Baby Daddy and My ex-Husband

Last updated on: February 22, 2013 at 2:49 pm   By Leticia Adams

I was thinking of writing a very serious post on motherhood and how it can really be rough sometimes. But then I read this post by Simcha, and well, I changed my mind and decided to write this one. Let me set it up for you. When I was 16 I got pregnant with my first child. His father’s name in Homer (not my best friend who died, Homer, but the father of my first child Homer. I know. It’s... Read more

Things Are About to Get Real

Last updated on: February 12, 2013 at 1:00 pm   By Leticia Adams

Yesterday, like everyone else, I woke up to the news of our Papa stepping down as the Successor of Peter. I thought it was a joke, and then I started to panic. Then, as usual, my guardian angel stepped in and wing slapped me. I feel like maybe God showed me something deeper than what was happening just on the surface for just a tiny moment. First let me explain my relationship with Pope Benedict. I have blogged about the last... Read more

Our Own Sins

Last updated on: February 5, 2013 at 8:31 am   By Leticia Adams

There are days when Scripture really just comes to life for me. I became Catholic because I was standing inside the Vatican at the tomb of Saint Peter and had “you are Peter and upon this rock I will build my Church” come as alive as a Bible verse can be. It shook me to my core so bad that I went straight to confession and actually understood the Sacrament for the first time. Today God is whacking me over... Read more

Be the Woman God Made YOU To Be

Last updated on: January 18, 2013 at 1:24 pm   By Leticia Adams

I was once again woken up at 6am buy my angel. How do I know it was him? Because this has happened more than once and I’ve started to understand the pattern; it’s as if someone wakes me up by saying “Get UP!! We have things to do!!” in my ear and BAM! I’m awake. Then my mind starts writing a blog post and I’m not even awake yet. Now, I know that many people will say that I’m crazy, or... Read more

He is That Into You

Last updated on: December 27, 2012 at 9:37 am   By Leticia Adams

So right before my life in Amarillo crashed and burned 5 1/2 years ago I read this book called “He’s Just not that Into You” and it really was a good book but I didn’t really get how to change. Now as I sit here watching the movie I realize that I’ve changed all those things about me that attracted the kind of men who wanted to use me and ended being  married to a man who loves me. I... Read more

Birth Control is Not The Answer

Last updated on: October 17, 2012 at 8:19 am   By Leticia Adams

I’m gonna say this: the reason people don’t take pro-lifers seriously is because we don’t take ourselves seriously. Any pro-lifer who says or thinks that birth control lowers abortion rates has not done their research and isn’t 100% pro-life. The fact that pro-lifers refuse to say that to them is really mind blowing to me because if we believe that life begins at conception, then we are wrong to say it’s ok to end that life by birth control. The... Read more

This is My Body

Last updated on: August 2, 2012 at 3:57 pm   By Leticia Adams

There are many wrong choices that I have made in my past. I have nobody to blame but myself for all them. I’ve taken them all to the feet of Jesus at the Cross and begged for His mercy and He is in Goodness has forgiven me. And, in His mercy, He showed me that there is one thing that  I am able to take back and make right. It’s only by the Grace of God that I was even... Read more

The Only Way the World is Going to Believe that Jesus is Real, is If We Live our Lives Like He is Real

Last updated on: July 5, 2012 at 12:21 pm   By Leticia Adams

Since my conversion there are a few things that perpetually irk the crap out of me. One of them is people who didn’t know me in my past life assuming that I’ve been a good Catholic girl all my life who was sheltered from the real world. You know, where all the “fun” is.  That bothers me because it’s pretty ironic coming from the “don’t judge me” club. It’s funny how offended they are that I have the nerve to... Read more

By the Grace of God We Carry Our Cross

Last updated on: June 14, 2012 at 11:13 am   By Leticia Adams

I was talking to a good priest once who said people will do anything to not suffer. When they come to him with their troubles and he tells them to frequent Mass and the sacraments they are not satisfied with that advice. But if he told them a list of things to do like magic or superstition they would do it: no questions asked. (not that he would do that, it was an observation from hearing of people going to... Read more
