Mystery and Mysticism; Important Parts of a Faith in Christ

Last updated on: October 19, 2023 at 4:54 pm By John D Gee

In Celtic Christianity mystery was an accepted part of the spiritual. This is because of the direct influence of the Druidic faith and those first Celts who became Christian. Druidic faith, very much like the religions around it in Europe at the time were not interested in knowing the mechanics of creation. They were interested in knowing creation, and by proxy, the creator. Where our modern western minds desire to know if the earth was created in 6 literal days... Read more

An Introduction to Natural Theology- Our First Bible

Last updated on: October 19, 2023 at 4:46 pm By John D Gee

The Approach Anytime we are approaching theology we must be able to answer two fundamental questions. Who we are and where are we going. Understanding the Natural Revelation of God is a lofty goal, but if one does not understand themselves, they will never comprehend the Natural Theology of God. Secondly, we must know where we are going. A famous Celtic saying about Christ is that one “cannot journey for Christ, if one does not take Christ with them on... Read more

Celtic Beltane: Finding Jesus in all Cultures

Last updated on: October 19, 2023 at 4:47 pm By John D Gee

In the ancient Celtic traditions, before Christianity, Beltane was a holiday that celebrated the beginning of summer, and was when cattle were driven out to the summer pastures. Rituals were performed to protect cattle, people and crops, and to encourage growth. Special bonfires were kindled, whose flames, smoke and ashes were deemed to have protective powers. The people and their cattle would walk around or between bonfires, and sometimes leap over the flames or embers. All household fires would be... Read more

The Carmina Gadelica Series: The Loom Blessing

Last updated on: October 19, 2023 at 4:48 pm By John D Gee

One of the common understandings in Celtic Christianity is the reality of an ever present God. In many Western churches today, worship is a way of inviting the Holy Spirit into a sacred place. The Celtic understanding of God would argue that God is already there and has always been there. The math of this concept checks out. If God is infinite, then there is no place where God cannot be. This simple understanding of God’s presence influenced how those... Read more

Understanding Good Friday in Context

Last updated on: October 19, 2023 at 4:48 pm By John D Gee

Many times when we look at Good Friday, we look at it in the rearview mirror. When we view the execution of Jesus that occurs on Good Friday, we do it with the knowledge of what happens on Sunday. Its important to remember that the disciples did not know what was going to occur. The Disciples Reality I think its important to understand how frightening it would have been to be a follower of Christ on Saturday into Sunday. The... Read more

Hillsong Syndrome; Why The Megachurch Model Will Never Work With Genuine Christianity

Last updated on: January 25, 2023 at 11:56 pm By John D Gee

I’m sure many have no doubt heard about what is going on with Hillsong. This large church that is spread across the globe starting in Australia has captured the imagination of many modern evangelical Christians all over the world. Unfortunately, when a net is cast so large, it can capture other things as well. This is where Hillsong, and many others like it begin to have issues. As a church grows, there are things that it will no doubt bring... Read more

The Carmina Gadelica Series: Sleep Consecration

Last updated on: April 1, 2022 at 11:21 am By John D Gee

Many people do not understand the importance of rest. And still more people do not understand the importance of being intentional with rest. There are many instances, especially in religious circles where a pastor, or lay leader will burnout. And then, once burnout occurs, it is more often than not because the person did not have rest as part of their life rhythm. Rest is important and sacred to God. It was so important, that God, an infinite being with... Read more

A Response to John MacArthur- People Are Being “Loved” To Death

Last updated on: October 19, 2023 at 4:13 pm By John D Gee

Recently I have come across the most current John MacArthur controversy and it has concerned me greatly. Not necessarily what MacArthur has said or done, but the fact that no one is standing up to it. As of this writing I have yet to find one major reformed pastor speaking out against MacArthur’s comments. For those who may not know, John MacArthur’s comments from 2002 about abusive marriage have resurfaced, and rightfully so. In those comments, MacArthur states that abuse... Read more

The Apocalypse Is Here

Last updated on: October 19, 2023 at 4:49 pm By John D Gee

After doing the research, and looking at the signs, I have come to this conclusion. The Apocalypse is here. Everything as we know it is going to change. To be honest, the signs have been there the whole time but I was too blind to see them. The Apocalypse is here, for the Evangelical Church. Ezekiel 38-39 is Clear(ish) Events around the world can be looked at through the eyes of scripture and it is clear the Apocalypse is here... Read more

The Eyes Of Love Unconditional (Guest Author Archbishop Iris Bey)

Last updated on: February 18, 2022 at 9:35 am By John D Gee

In a world so full of hate, love is becoming a rare societal attribute. In today’s society, humanity has lost sight of what it truly means to love thy neighbor. Love is fluid, it is alive, it is moving, it is designed to be ever evolving, growing and life-giving. Love can also be stagnant, dry, and painful when it is mishandled and misused. Love can also be selective and discriminatory; however, the possessor of such love selects who will be... Read more
