Discovering Your Spiritual Allies

Last updated on: March 2, 2021 at 12:24 pm   By Phoenix LeFae

The truth is that we all have many spiritual allies. These may come in the form of deities, ancestors, fae, land spirits, animals, plants, or something else. Some of them will come into our lives for just a moment, even for just a single message. Other allies may show up and hang out with us for a bit; weeks, months, years, and then disappear. While other spiritual allies will be with us from birth to death, whether we ever connect with them or not. Discovering your spiritual allies is a lifetime’s worth of work, but here are a few ways to get started on the path. Read more

The Perils of a Magickal Hangover

Last updated on: February 17, 2021 at 10:36 am   By Phoenix LeFae

Something came up in a class last night. A couple of folks mentioned feeling crappy after practicing casting circles. When you’re new to energy work, casting circles, or doing any sort of magickal practice, there is a potential for a magickal hangover, ritual rebound, or energy blowback. You don’t have to be a new practitioner for this to happen either. And there are some real perils of a magickal hangover. Magickal hangovers can bring on the same symptoms of an... Read more

Casting a Circle – Not Just Performance Art

Last updated on: December 28, 2020 at 4:08 pm   By Phoenix LeFae

Picture it. It's a dark night in the middle of the woods. There is a roaring fire in the center of a large group of people. A long haired Priestess steps out from the crowd. She is carrying a sword, the shine of the blade getting lost if the folds of her dark skirt. She stops near the fire, pointing the blade towards the flames, as if calling the power of that fire into the metal of her blade. She then lifts the sword, pointing the tip of the sword towards the direction of North and draws a pentacle in the air. Moving in a clockwise circle around the space, she repeats this pattern three more times. All the while is speaks the words of magick. The blade is held above her head, pointing to the heavens. Then the blade is plunged into the earth. Read more

Yule Candle Spell

Last updated on: December 7, 2020 at 1:15 pm   By Phoenix LeFae

The candle (electric or otherwise) is a source of inspiration. It is a message of hope and blessing. A solitary flame can serve as a reminder of all that feeds us. A candle flame can bring a bit of heat and warmth in times when we are lost or cold. The light of a candle is a physical reminder of the power of the sun and the energy it brings to our world.  Read more
