In the previous article, I introduced the Rape Gang Inquiry published by Rupert Lowe, a former representative of Reform UK. [You can access this article: HERE]

In this report, the inquiry team found that, since the 50s, 250,000 U.K. girls, some as young as 11, were either exploited, trafficked, drugged, raped, enslaved, passed around, experienced forced conversion to Islam, or that they experienced a mix of any of the acts in this list. These actions were perpetuated by a cast of predominantly Pakistani Muslims, some 87% of the perpetrators.

A simple slap on the wrist was given to many of them. The question now is this: Why were Pakistani Muslims (among the remaining ~12% being of Muslim Origin as well) so heavily involved in this trafficking mob? 10,000 cases relating to these gangs were dropped by the former Prime Minister himself, Keir Starmer. [You can Access the Full Report: HERE]

If it were to come out that out of the perpetrators 87% of them were Christians, I’m sure many folks would be chomping at the bits to pin Christianity as the culprit. In fact, we’ve seen this reaction with sexual abuse cases coming out of the SBC and the Roman Catholic Church.

In the case with the Catholic Church and SBC, Christianity blatantly teaches against this, thus making accountability appropriate and swift. Within the Islamic community, however, there seems to be no accountability for this except by Westernized Muslims. Why is this?

Perhaps, when you transport millions of immigrants from one culture into another, you will not see assimilation.

No…

Instead, one may see competition; one of ideas, culture, and worldview. In the next few articles, including this one, we will begin by exploring this clash of worldview, specifically with what Islam teaches. We will then tie these teachings to the glaring problem that the U.K.  (among other European nations) faces.

Let’s begin with the idea of Muslim superiority and Jihad.

The Ummah

It should be established that Islam sets its people up to have a massive superiority complex. For instance, Muhammad, apparently receiving revelations from Allah, communicates that Muslims are the greatest of the human species and non-believers are…

well…

let’s just see…

Positive claims about Muslims from Muhammad include the following:

“You are the best community ever raised for humanity—you encourage good, forbid evil, and believe in Allah. Had the People of the Book believed, it would have been better for them. Some of them are faithful, but most are rebellious.” – Surah 3:110

Of the People of the Book, we read the following:

“Of the people of the Book, Allah says this: Indeed, those who disbelieve from the People of the Book and the polytheists will be in the Fire of Hell, to stay there forever. They are the worst of ˹all˺ beings. Indeed, those who believe and do good—they are the best of ˹all˺ beings.” – Surah 98:6-7

So, notice:

Ibn Kathir, in his tafsir on 98:6-7, enlightens us on what it means for Muslims to be the best, and for the people of the book to be the worst.

He states that for the people of the book to be the worst of creatures means that “they are the worst creation that Allah has fashioned and created. Then Allah informs about the situation of the righteous people who believed in their hearts and performed righteous deeds with their bodies. He says that they are the best of creation. Abu Hurayrah and a group of the scholars have used this Ayah as a proof that the believers have a status among the creatures that is better than the angels.”

Muhammad himself has his tafsir which was collected in Sahih al-Bukhari.

Hadith 4557 states: “The Verse: –“You (true Muslims) are the best of peoples ever raised up for mankind.” means, the best of peoples for the people, as you bring them with chains on their necks till they embrace Islam.”

Are you starting to see an issue?

So far, Muslims are better than angels.

And non-Muslims are the worst of all creation simply because they do not practice Islam, and they should be subjugated until they do.

This is a recipe for disaster as 1400 years of Western and Islamic interaction has shown.

Is Islam Peaceful?

It is of note that besides the many verses in the Quran that communicate peace, Islam is, from its inception, a war-driven religion.

Yet, Muslim Dawahgandists will often bring up the famous “no compulsion in religion” ayat among others. Here are a few examples:

“Let there be no compulsion in religion, for the truth stands out clearly from falsehood. So, whoever renounces false gods and believes in Allah has certainly grasped the firmest, unfailing hand-hold. And Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.” 2: 256

“Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “O People of the Book! Let us come to common terms: that we will worship none but Allah, associate none with Him, nor take one another as lords instead of Allah.” But if they turn away, then say, “Bear witness that we have submitted ˹to Allah alone˺.” – 3:64

Ibn Kathir is helpful in clarifying things, once more.

In his commentary on 3:64, he explains, “Do not force anyone to become Muslim, for Islam is plain and clear, and its proofs and evidence are plain and clear. Therefore, there is no need to force anyone to embrace Islam. Rather, whoever Allah directs to Islam, opens his heart for it and enlightens his mind, will embrace Islam with certainty. Whoever Allah blinds his heart and seals his hearing and sight, then he will not benefit from being forced to embrace Islam.”

Seems fair enough, right? Muslims aren’t to force or coerce others to follow Islam (except of course when Muhammad says otherwise when demonstrated earlier.) They are to let Allah guide who he wishes.

However, there is one issue: Abrogation.

Abrogation Normalizes the Verse of the Sword

Abrogation occurs when a future verse that is revealed within the Quran supersedes or replaces a prior verse. Allah, himself, according to Muhammad at least, set the groundwork for abrogation.

Take for instance Surah 2:106:

“If We ever abrogate a verse or cause it to be forgotten, We replace it with a better or similar one. Do you not know that Allah is Most Capable of everything?”

or 16:101

“When We replace a verse with another—and Allah knows best what He reveals—they say, “You ˹Muḥammad˺ are just a fabricator.” In fact, most of them do not know…”

Ironically, one of these verses indicates that people accused Muhammad of making things up as he went (color me shocked) but nonetheless, we see the foundation for new verses replacing old ones that are supposedly better. Why does this matter?

Well. When Muhammad enters Medina and seems to be in charge as a political leader, his revelations seem to get a little bit more… violent. Most famous of his revelation during this period are known as the “Sword Verses:” Surah 9:5, and 9:29-9:31.

Let’s begin by looking at Surah 9:5:

But once the Sacred Months have passed, kill the polytheists ˹who violated their treaties˺ wherever you find them, capture them, besiege them, and lie in wait for them on every way. But if they repent, perform prayers, and pay alms-tax, then set them free. Indeed, Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” – 9:5

Ibn Kathir on 9:5 brings to light some important information regarding the famous “Verse of the sword.” He states that since the time of peace had passed that Muslims are charged to “kill the idolaters where you find them.” After quoting Muhammad’s statement of being commanded to fight the people until they pay Zakat, he continues by quoting Ad-Dahhak bin Muhazim, stating:

“This honorable Ayah (9:5) was called the Ayah of the Sword, about which Ad-Dahhak bin Muzahim said, “It abrogated every agreement of peace between the Prophet and any idolater, every treaty, and every term.”

I emboldened the quote so that it pops out at you. So much for there being “no compulsion in religion.”

What’s more, Abu Bakr As-Saddiq used this verse as evidence for fighting non-believers who refused to pay the Zakat (a tax that differentiates Muslims from non-Muslims.) Muslims are allowed to fight non-Muslims until they pay the Zakat or submit to Allah.

More Sword Verses

Another famous sword verse (or couple of verses, rather) is Surah 9:29-31. Here we find, not Allah’s charge against polytheists, but his desired treatment of the People of the Book (i.e. Jews and Christians). Note, the people of the book early within Muhammad’s ministry were people that he had constantly tried to coerce and win favor with by appealing to their scriptures. That’s why the Quran affirms the Torah and the Injil over and over again. Yet, now that Muhammad is in power, it seems that the script is flipped. Let’s look at 9:29-31 and you’ll see what I mean:

“Fight those who do not believe in Allah and the Last Day, nor comply with what Allah and His Messenger have forbidden, nor embrace the religion of truth from among those who were given the Scripture, until they pay the tax, willingly submitting, fully humbled. The Jews say, “Ezra is the son of Allah,” while the Christians say, “The Messiah is the son of Allah.” Such are their baseless assertions, only parroting the words of earlier disbelievers. May Allah condemn them! How can they be deluded ˹from the truth˺? They have taken their rabbis and monks as well as the Messiah, son of Mary, as lords besides Allah, even though they were commanded to worship none but One God. There is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except Him. Glorified is He above what they associate ˹with Him˺!” – Surah 9:29-31

A Breakdown of 9:29-31

There are a few things that we must notice here.

It MUST be understood that this isn’t a temporal charge for attacking, such as the conquest of Canaan of the Old Testament. Nor is this in the context of a defensive war that Muhammad is engaging in. This is fighting groups of people because of what they supposedly believe. This is supported by the tafsir interpretation of Kathir and how this verse has been understood throughout early Islamic history.

“What about all of the peaceful verses?” you may ask.

Remember, the peaceful verses were abrogated. They no longer apply. Ibn Kathir states in his tafsir that shortly after Allah “revealed” this verse, that Muhammad prepared to march on the Roman Empire. He amassed some 30,000 troops to begin raiding. And as history shows, Muslim armies at the hands of the Arabs, Egyptians, and Turks found great success against the rag-tag, mercenary army of the Easter Roman Empire.

On top of this, is that Muhammad had romanticized Constantinople to a fault even giving the conquering of Constantinople eschatological status. Sunan Abi Dawud 4294, as just one example, shows Muhammad saying that the Dajjal (the one-eyed anti-Christ) will come when Constantinople is conquered. Thus, begins a 700-year quest that was finally accomplished in 1453.

The Verses of the Sword in Real Time

Within the first 100 years after Muhammad’s death, Islam ravaged through the Christian world. 66% of the Christian world was conquered by the Crescent by 732 before the Moors were stopped at Tours by Charles Martel’s Franks. Churches were destroyed, priests and other clergy were murdered, women were enslaved, and countless men were slaughtered attempting to halt the onslaught to no avail before Martel’s heroics.

At the surrender of Jerusalem, Umar is famous for giving terms to the city.

His terms are quoted in the tafsir of Surah 9:28-9:29.

I want to give some highlights:

This was the life of the Dimmah: The subjugated second-class citizens who were exclusively Kufr (infidels.) They were subjected to humiliation and ridicule as long as they didn’t submit to Allah and his prophet. For a starting point on exploring how Dhimmihood is played out in real life, START HERE.

What on Earth Does Jihad Have to Do with Rape Gangs?

Of course, we must ask, “What does this have to do with the Rape Gangs of the UK.?
Well. Let’s put the pieces of the puzzle together, shall we?

First, Islam sets itself up as being the best that the world has to offer. Muslims are the best of Allah’s creation, even having status higher than angels. It follows, that those who do not follow Allah are the worst, as is stated by Muhammad himself. This would be of no consequence if Islam remained peaceful and taught that, as Muhammad revealed earlier in his career, there’s no compulsion in religion. However, this changed.

Second, Islam teaches to fight and subjugate those who do not believe until they either pay Jizyah or submit to Islam. Of course, a number of girls who were trapped by the rape gangs underwent forced conversion and forced marriage. This must be noted here. The idea of war booty can be in one’s mind.

Third, if you have a culture that is informed by this superiority complex and is undergirded by militaristic exploitation, imported in the form of millions of people into a liberalized culture that is unable to defend itself because of its new pluralistic tendencies, then we have a recipe for disaster.

The idea of Jihad is but one piece of the puzzle as to how Islam is the culprit for these rape gangs. It is not simply a few mad men, but an ideology that must be defeated and expelled.

Islam Must be Held Accountable

It must be noted that all 4 schools of Islamic Jurisprudence taught that Jihad against the infidel was a mainstay in Islamic life. The Shafi’ite school of the Sunni tradition, for example, in the Reliance of the Traveller says that Jihad means to “war against non-Muslims… to establish the religion of Islam.” If Jihad of the sword is not possible, then Jihad of the pen or mouth is permissible in its place.

This must not be forgotten.

Yes. Not all Muslims took place in these gangs. This is obvious. And not all Muslims believe that they should wage war on non-believers. Thank goodness.

Yet. We must hold accountable the Islamic worldview that permits these actions. The reality is that there is no such thing as a radical Muslim. There is a Muslim, and a liberal Muslim.

If a Muslim is submitting to the will of Allah and to his prophet (the Sunnah included), then we should expect this type of behavior to follow if they are being consistent.

Islam must continue to be exposed for what it actually teaches, and not what the Dawah community claims in public nor what Muslims think their book teaches.

Worldviews have consequences.

And the one of consequences of this worldview, when truly upheld by its followers, are rape gangs in the U.K.

I will continue to unpack reasons why in future articles.

What are your thoughts?

How has the Concept of Jihad led to the Pakistani Rape Gangs in the U.K?

Is Islam truly to blame for these gangs?
