Patheos Explore the world's faith through different perspectives on religion and spirituality! Patheos has the views of the prevalent religions and spiritualities of the world.
Thirty years ago my path began, I would start researching and learning about religions. The journey that would begin a drive in me to become pagan, academic, and a business owner. From a young age I understood that there was more than my Christian roots. I felt a call that was strong and tied me to education that would be the basis of my foundation in life. I would like to shed some light on who I am and where I come from. I am a Leo and very complex in my personality. I look forward to learning from each of you and impart my knowledge to you.
My first author that I would read was Scott Cunningham. I felt drawn to Wicca and earth-based religions. I found solace in religions that worshipped the feminine divine, having been raised by very strong women. I questioned everything. I wanted more for myself than the light dogmatic relationship with Christianity that my family had. In Wicca: The Solitary Practitioner, I found the elements that were missing in my life. Other authors would also become part of my education: Phyllis Curott, Raymond Buckland, and others would pave the way for my path and understanding of the world around me.
The love of reading and paganism has me buying books of all types to read. My wife always says I have a book problem to which I reply, “no I have a shelving problem!” On this new journey, I will most definitely share my research and reviews of the books I am reading. I hope to make this a part of my path here.
Fast forward to day, I am a forty-something happy in my own skin. I own and operate an alternative path store within Middletown, Ohio. What is an alternative path store you ask? It’s not complex, I simply did not want to be just a metaphysical or pagan shop. I wanted to be a haven for anyone of alternative subculture looking for a place to shop and feel safe.
I began my business journey twenty years ago online but when life situations got in the way, I chose to be a mom first. To raise my daughters through personal light and love. This meant putting my business and my spirituality on hold.
After years of practice and research I am proud to call myself, witch and pagan. I have raised my two daughters in honor of the divine. They both have a strong love of the Earth and they are in tune with their divine within. Now with both of my daughters grown and on their own, I have come to realize that I need my spirituality more now than ever. Being in the crone stage of life is proving to be harder than any of the stages in life. I will most likely open up about many or all of my adventures through the years but for now I would like to focus on the future.
The stepping back into my alternative path has awaken many aspects of my life. I am many things: a wife, a mother, a business owner, a scholar, a teacher, a writer, a mental health patient, and a chronic pain sufferer. I am openly pansexual. I enjoy the darker goth side of life while believing in fairies and the mystics. My spirituality and witchcraft has been my strength of the years, aiding me through many aspects and hard situations. This is my belief that witchcraft and pagan beliefs have many angles and ways of practice. I am proudly an eclectic witch and am here to celebrate life with you!
I look to the future to aid others in their search for personal holistic health and healing. I am currently studying for my master’s in divinity as a pastoral counselor and working towards my doctorate in social psychology. My goal in life is to support others along their journey and research how the brain and society views religions. The power of the mind is a magnificent thing. Being able to heal and aid others through my shop, research, and counseling gives me gratitude.
I would love for everyone to embark on my next journey and walk amongst the new path I am on. To be here when I have words of wisdom to give and discuss topics that may not be spoken about.
I look to find a home within myself and see my future pave the way for bright endeavors. I see my life as a storybook of chapters and if my narrative assists others in troubled times, I welcome the chance to heal alongside others.
