I\u2019m not asking your permission
\nTo be who I really am
\nI\u2019ve had strength enough to find me
\nAnd I won\u2019t be lost again<\/p>\n

I\u2019m not asking your permission
\nTo live a life I am fulfilled in
\nI won\u2019t filter my ambitions
\nThrough the lens of your religion<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t need your acceptance
\nI don\u2019t need your validation
\nOr your support for my existence
\nOr your promise of salvation<\/p>\n

I no longer need approval
\nFor the things I want to be
\nI do not need your signature
\nTo allow me to be free<\/p>\n

My life is not your project
\nI am not your possession
\nSo don\u2019t you be surprised when
