WATERTOWN, Mass., September 8, 2026 – CatholicTV serves Catholics and others seeking to explore or deepen their faith, while providing an important connection to the Church for those who are homebound, hospitalized, traveling or otherwise unable to attend Mass in person. CatholicTV is now making it easier than ever to access daily Mass and the network’s full library of Catholic programming through a newly designed website and new streaming apps launching this fall.
The digital CatholicTV upgrades offer a simpler, more accessible viewing experience while expanding the ways viewers can access the network’s ministry. For the first time, every program—including the live daily broadcast of Mass—is fully captioned. Viewers can also download programs to watch offline, save favorite programs for easy access, and browse CatholicTV’s growing on-demand library at any time.
“While the platforms are brand new, the heart of CatholicTV remains the same: our mission and the beloved programming our viewers have come to cherish,” said Bishop Robert Reed, president of CatholicTV. “We want to make it as easy as possible for people to find the spiritual nourishment they need. CatholicTV is there to help them remain connected to the life of the Church.”
CatholicTV has broadcast the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass from its Chapel of the Holy Cross in Watertown since 1955, making it the oldest Catholic television network in the United States. Today, its 24/7 programming centers on prayer, education and inspiration, with the daily Mass at the heart of its ministry.
The network’s daily Mass is celebrated by priests from the Archdiocese of Boston and beyond, while Sunday liturgies are broadcast from locations including Notre Dame and Washington, D.C. CatholicTV also offers La Santa Misa, its Spanish-language Mass.
The redesigned website and apps address practical challenges faced by viewers who rely on CatholicTV as a connection to the Mass and Catholic community. Travelers can download Mass before heading somewhere with unreliable Wi-Fi, hospitalized viewers can use captions in shared rooms, and homebound Catholics can access Mass on demand rather than being limited by a broadcast schedule.
“CatholicTV has always been about meeting people where they are,” Bishop Reed said. “These enhancements allow us to continue that mission in a way that reflects how people access media today.”

CatholicTV reaches more than 15 million households through television distribution and is available throughout much of New England and across the United States, with particularly high viewership in California, Texas, Michigan, Louisiana, and Florida. The redesigned digital experience will be available across web, iOS, Android, Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Samsung, and LG, making CatholicTV more accessible wherever viewers are watching. Mass accounts for 65%-70% of all on-demand viewing, underscoring the central role of CatholicTV’s liturgical programming for viewers seeking to participate in the Mass on their own time. CatholicTV is also available in hospitals, nursing homes, and retirement facilities throughout the Archdiocese of Boston, while audio broadcasts of the daily Mass and Rosary are carried on radio stations across the country.
The new CatholicTV website and apps represent the latest evolution of a ministry that has spent more than 70 years using emerging media to bring Catholic programming to people who may not otherwise be able to access it.
