Filmed on 40 locations across 11 countries, Foundations of Faith helps Catholics study and love the Catechism of the Catholic Church, just in time to earn a Jubilee Indulgence for Catechism study as decreed by Pope Francis.

Building on the incredible success of The Catechism in a Year Podcast (with Fr. Mike Schmitz)®, which was the #1 Apple podcast in all categories during its 2023 launch, Ascension has released Foundations of Faith: A Journey Through the Catechism of the Catholic Church, a dynamic 20-session video-based small group program to deepen Catholics’ understanding of the Church.

Filmed on 40 locations spanning 4 continents and 11 countries, Foundations of Faith offers a spiritual pilgrimage across the globe, giving Catholics a deeper appreciation of the universal beauty of the Church.

Led by some of the most renowned Catholic educators of our time, including Fr. Mike Schmitz, Dr. Edward Sri, Jeff Cavins, Dr. Marcellino D’Ambrosio, Mari Pablo, Damon Owens, and Jackie Angel, Foundations of Faith unpacks the rich insights of the Catechism, providing Catholics with practical ways to apply them to everyday lives.

Dr. Sri shares, “Many Catholics aren’t familiar with the Catechism of the Catholic Church, as it can be daunting and overwhelming without a guide to unpack it. We assembled an amazing team of teachers for Foundations of Faith to guide Catholics through the Catechism to explore the beauty and riches of our Faith—and live deeply in the heart of the Church.”

The sessions explain the core beliefs of the Catholic faith, provide details about the historic ecumenical councils, and how these doctrines have evolved since the time of the Apostles. The study provides a profound yet accessible guide to the heart of Catholic teachings.

Providentially, the release of Foundations of Faith during the Jubilee Year provides Catholics an opportunity to receive a Jubilee Indulgence, as decreed by Pope Francis.

No matter where Catholics are in their spiritual journey, Foundations of Faith will help transform participants, families, and parishes by encouraging Catholics to understand the Faith, renew their hearts, and share God’s love and truth with others.
