There are so many kinds of taco dip recipes<\/strong><\/a> out there. All you have to do is an Internet search\u00a0 My mother always made a taco dip<\/strong><\/a> for various occasions and church functions.\u00a0 It was her most requested appetizer.\u00a0 Some people had even asked for the recipe<\/strong>.<\/a>\u00a0 The following is the fan favorite.<\/p>\n

Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Base ingredients:\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

1 cup to half cup of sour cream<\/p>\n

1 jar of your choice of salsa<\/p>\n

8 0z. Cream cheese (softened)<\/p>\n

Toppings:\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Shredded lettuce \u2013 iceberg works best<\/p>\n

Shredded cheese \u2013 cheddar or Mexican blend<\/p>\n

Diced tomatoes<\/p>\n

Nacho\/taco chips<\/p>\n

For the base<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

\nBeat the softened cream cheese with a hand mixer.\u00a0 Make sure to soften the cream cheese a few hours before beating or put in the microwave for at least 30-40 seconds if you are short on time.<\/li>\nAdd sour cream and your salsa and mix well.\u00a0 (You can substitute the sour cream with plain yogurt.\u00a0 You can also substitute salsa with taco seasoning or add in addition to.)<\/li>\nAdd the mixture to the bottom of a dish.<\/li>\nAfter adding to the dish, you can chill in the refrigerator or add all ingredients and then chill.\u00a0 The process is up to you.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n***
** For the toppings:<\/strong><\/p>\n
** Layer with lettuce, shredded cheese and diced tomatoes.\u00a0 You can also add other toppings of your choice including black olives, green onions, etc.<\/p>\n
** Make sure to test your cream cheese mix by tasting it with a spoon or using the taco chips of your choice\u00a0 that you will serve on the side.<\/p>\n
