President Trump Puts Dictator Over Treasury Department 2019-03-23T00:17:21-04:00 Susan Wright

To the surprise of absolutely no one, President Trump flew in the face of his own Treasury Department, in order to display his loyalty to a depraved, bloodthirsty dictator.

On Thursday the U.S. Treasury Department announced new penalties against two Chinese shipping companies that were working to help North Korea get around the sanctions already in place.

And that’s the crux of it. North Korea has taken President Trump on a ride, running the long con to get out of sanctions, while giving nothing in return.

Recent reports suggest that long range missile production has never actually stopped, even as Trump praised Kim and his nation.

In response to mounting evidence North Korea is rebuilding key missile sites, Trump said earlier this month he would be “very disappointed” in Kim if they were, in fact, being rebuilt, but added that “I don’t think I will be.”

Let’s not forget that, according to Trump, the two of them had “fallen in love.”

Even after walking away from the last summit, the president doesn’t seem convinced that he was conned.

With that in mind, it should shock no one that Trump took to Twitter to make one of those surprise announcements today.

In a tweet, Trump wrote that “it was announced today by the U.S. Treasury that additional large scale Sanctions” would be imposed in addition to “already existing Sanctions on North Korea.”

“I have today ordered the withdrawal of those additional Sanctions!” the president added.

That’s right. The Treasury Department sees something that needs to be done, but the president stepped all over them. No one in the administration saw it coming, and this absolutely hinders the ability of the administration to do what is necessary to deal with the threat of a nuclear North Korea.

Trump’s national security adviser, John Bolton, must be feeling particularly hamstringed. On Thursday, he made his own announcement, taking a decidedly more forceful tone in regards to the hermit nation and the need to keep them isolated.

Important actions today from @USTreasury; the maritime industry must do more to stop North Korea’s illicit shipping practices. Everyone should take notice and review their own activities to ensure they are not involved in North Korea’s sanctions evasion. https://t.co/AVnOPrWbH6

How does Trump’s Friday announcement make him look?

It’s typical Trump to make foreign policy whatever he wants it to be, while completely ignoring the advice or work of his own administration officials.

One source has suggested that he wasn’t talking about the newly announced sanctions, but rather, an upcoming round of sanctions that have yet to be announced publicly.

Whatever the case, this isn’t typical, or advisable for the health of the nation. He’s a president who makes major decisions based on having his ego stroked.

Never before have we had anyone so haphazard with their responsibilities.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders pointed to the love affair between Trump and Kim, as his reason for this favor.

“President Trump likes Chairman Kim and he doesn’t think these sanctions will be necessary,” she said.

Even after everything we’ve already seen and heard from North Korea, all the reports of their continues efforts to develop nuclear weaponry, President Trump is in complete denial.

This is the danger of Trump. Evidence means nothing. All that matters is his ego, and our enemies know this.
