A New Fox News Poll Is Inconvenient to Trump’s View of the Mueller Investigation 2018-07-12T22:41:08-04:00 Susan Wright

I’m going to go out on a limb and say the poll President Trump was referring to in the last piece I brought you wasn’t this particular poll.
And this one has got to be a real kick in the head for the president. It’s coming from his personal propaganda network – Fox News.
The poll, conducted by phone from July 9 to July 11 explores the nation’s feelings towards the ongoing probe of Russian interference in the 2016 election, and specifically, with the work of special counsel Robert Mueller.
The poll is actually a mixed bag of results.
First of all, over half – 55 percent – feel that Robert Mueller should take his time and get this investigation done right, rather than rush through it, just to get to the end.

How about that?
That’s not to say that people aren’t suffering from some form of fatigue with the whole thing. Results of the poll would suggest that they are.
The poll also found that approval of Mueller’s probe has fallen from 55 percent last month to 48 percent on Thursday, with the drop taking place entirely among Democrats. Eighty-four percent of Democrats approved of the investigation in the poll last month, compared to 72 percent in the new poll.
How do you account for that, Democrats? I mean, we already know among Republicans that number is going to be low. They desperately want to believe that the man they elected doesn’t act like a Russian asset (but he does).
President Trump garbled out one of his Twitter word salads last weekend, as he attacked the “Rigged Witch Hunt” – which shows some progress, since he’s moved up from just calling it a plain “witch hunt.”
Public opinion has turned strongly against the Rigged Witch Hunt and the “Special” Counsel because the public understands that there was no Collusion with Russia (so ridiculous), that the two FBI lovers were a fraud against our Nation & that the only Collusion was with the Dems!

Also, Trump’s attorney, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, feels the tide is turning in his client’s favor.
In an interview last week with the New York Times, he expressed his confidence.
“Nobody is going to consider impeachment if public opinion has concluded this is an unfair investigation, and that’s why public opinion is so important,” Giuliani told the newspaper.
I don’t think public opinion is as important to impeachment proceedings as Giuliani is saying here. He might need to leave those statements for someone with actual knowledge of the law, because it seems he’s lacking.
Further details about this poll: There were 1,007 respondents, all registered voters. The poll was nationwide, and has a margin of error of 3 percentage points.
