Watch Our President’s Amazing Interview (and What Did the Parents of Korean War Dead Ask Him?) 2018-06-13T22:38:33-04:00 Susan Wright

If you want to get a really solid picture of the nightmarish result of sending an incompetent, boorish, Manhattan reprobate into negotiations with a dangerous foreign despot, it is unfolding for all to see, in the aftermath of the summit between President Trump and North Korea’s Kim Jong Un.

The president recently sat with Fox News’ Bret Baier and the garbled, nonsensical, answers were disturbing – or should be.

He began by praising the new, friendly relationship he thinks he has developed with Kim. It doesn’t matter that North Korea has played this game before, and have always gone back on their word.

He also talked about pulling American troops from South Korea, complaining that we weren’t being paid enough to keep them there.

During interview with @BretBaier, Trump says he hopes to get US troops out of South Korea as soon as possible, indicates he's not happy with fact that "we don't get paid fully for that military" presence there. pic.twitter.com/Jb2ORhI97C

I’m sure that made our allies in South Korea feel secure.

He then moved on to praise China’s Xi Jinping, gushing over another relationship with another Communist leader, and gave a nod to Xi Jinping’s “president for life status,” saying, “That’s pretty good.”

He doesn’t seem to realize what rights had to be suspended in order to make him “president for life.” Considering it’s Trump, I’m sure he doesn’t care.

Next, he blew off Kim Jong Un’s brutal dictatorship, and Baier’s concerns that an American president so lavishly praised such a man.

Said Trump, “He’s a very smart guy, a great negotiator, but I think we understand each other.”

Baier countered, “But he still has done some really bad things.”

After hearing Trump again praise Kim, you can almost hear the screams going on in Baier’s head, at this point.

Trump replied, “Yeah, but so have a lot of other people have done some really bad things. I mean, I could go through a lot of nations where a lot of bad things were done.”

He’s drawing a moral equivalency between North Korea – a brutal, horrific, totalitarian regime – with other nations.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say when he named those other nations, he wouldn’t name Russia.

And if you really want to fully appreciate who our president is, watch this clip, where he claims “thousands and thousands” of people have been asking to have the remains of U.S. soldiers that died in the Korean war brought back home. Among those thousands and thousands that approached him on the campaign trail, were the parents of soldiers who died in the Korean war, saying, “When you can, President, we’d love our son to be brought back home.”

Trump claims, preposterously, that parents of Korean War veterans came up to him during the 2016 campaign and said, "when you can, we'd love our son to be brought back home — you know, the remains."

That’s a great story, and I give Bret Bair props for not running from the interview screaming. I mean, the Korean war ended in 1953. I’m going to gamble and say some of the youngest soldiers may have been about 17 years old, meaning they were born in 1936. How old do you think their parents are now, and how great is it that they’re spry enough to still get out to MAGA rallies?

And for extra sauce, why so insistent on getting Russia back into the G7?

Well, he could sit next to Vladimir Putin at dinner and ask him to do him a favor and get out of Syria and Ukraine.

You can’t make this stuff up.

This is not parody, folks. This is really our president and we should all be freaking out.

He has the nuclear codes, you know.
