Pardoned Filmmaker to Compare Trump to Lincoln in New Documentary 2018-06-11T11:40:28-04:00 Susan Wright

When has the drive to flood popular media within the United States with blatant propaganda about a particular political figure been more apparent or alarming?

I’m not talking about the stupidity of celebrities and journalists treating Barack Obama as if he was some sort of great, dawning hope over the United States.

That kind of fawning nonsense is expected from bubble-brained Hollywood elites and news agencies that are, for the most part, pretty hard left, ideologically.

I guess I’m old enough to remember when the right believed in avoiding such mindless shows of fealty, in favor of hard truths and supporting a nation that is free because of old fashioned American idealism, partnered with the enduring human spirit of our people.

Yes, we’ve had our conservative heroes, but the breathless praises and unhinged sycophancy that surrounds Donald Trump is astonishing.

Now take into account the recent pardon of Dinesh D’Souza, the filmmaker who routinely engages in racist, antagonistic rhetoric across social media, as well as unbridled worship of Donald Trump.

D’Souza’s previous films include “2016: Obama’s America,” where he warned of the dangers, should Barack Obama win a second term, and “Hillary’s America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party.”

And now, fresh off of his pardon, news of a new film has been announced, and a partnership with producer Gerald R. Molen.

The Hollywood Reporter has news of D’Souza’s latest documentary, “Death of a Nation.” And yes, D’Souza is taking his social media insanity to video, as he draws comparisons between Abraham Lincoln and Donald Trump.

“Death of a Nation draws a provocative analogy between Lincoln and Trump,” D’Souza tells THR. “Not that they’re the same people, but that they’ve fallen into the same situation. Not since 1865 have Democrats so dramatically refused to accept the outcome of a presidential election.”

D’Souza is quick to point out that even though President Trump pardoned him on May 31, this isn’t payback. There is no [official] Office of Presidential Propaganda, and it’s not like if there was, he would be a chief officer in service to the president.

“We’ve been working on the film for more than a year and commissioned the artwork two months ago. Trump had no inkling of the art or the theme of the movie when he pardoned me,” says D’Souza.

Really? None?

It’s possible that Trump was not informed, beforehand, but there’s no way anyone should believe this wasn’t a movie with a mission, and it’s not simply to inform. This is a drive for the same nationalist fervor that brought Trump and his alt-right crusaders to the forefront of the American political scene.

Beyond the Trump-Lincoln connection, the film explores the roots of fascism and racism.

“The left has been playing these cards against conservatives for a decade. We explore if the fascist-racist tail should be pinned on the Republican elephant or the Democrat donkey,” says D’Souza.

“The four legs of the progressive agenda are well entrenched into society — academia, media, entertainment and culture,” says Molen. “The right, by contrast, is and always has been the anti-fascist party.”

I’m certainly not going to take up for the history of leftists in this nation. What I will point out now is that there is no distinguishable difference between their methods and that of Trump’s right, at this point.

The movie will be released to 1,000 theaters, beginning on August 3, 2018 by Quality Flix. Distribution by Blu-ray, DVD, and streaming will be handled by Quality Flix and Universal Pictures Home Entertainment.
