Mixing an Intention Oil
Mix up an essential oil blend for this ritual. Make enough to adorn yourself and to have a little leftover. For the Blessed Be Box oil, we mixed black pine, vanilla, neroli, and black pepper essential oils in an organic carrier oil. These oils were chosen for strength, to assist in aligning chakras, to help clear the mind, and to aid in releasing stagnant energy.

Mix your oils and breathe in the aroma. This will be your power oil for the next month and a half, helping you through all kinds of situations and grounding your intentions from this ritual into your daily life.
Candle Magic
Put some oil in your palms, then pick up the votive candle and clasp your hands around it. Reread your intentions for release and rebirth.
Say or think, “I charge this candle with strengthening me. May it help me release that which no longer serves me.” Repeat this until you feel that the candle has absorbed this energy. This candle will now assist you in this manner whenever you light it.

Place the candle into a candleholder and light it. Say or think, “As I light this candle on Yule, the shortest day and longest night, I ask that my intentions be heard.”
Recite your intentions from page 3 with a clear, strong voice. So may it be!
Bay Leaf Magic
If you wish to further release any negative energies, write down the things you wish to release on dried bay leaves or scraps of paper, leaving a bit of room at one end for you to hold onto them without burning your fingers. Light them on fire using your intention candle. Feel the release as the words are burned away.
If you want a little more detail, some information about the historical lore of bay, and a video of a bay leaf burning, check out this link on Bay Leaf Magic.

Meditation
Clear your mind and relax into the stillness. Let your thoughts leave your head. Breathe in the feeling of peace, possibilities, and newness. Despite what commonly happens around this time of the year, Yule can be a time of resting and hibernating.
Bring Forth the Positive
Now, it’s time to put positive energy into the place where the negative was. Pick up your ruby zoicite or any other stone you’re using.
We chose ruby zoicite because it’s perfect for this ritual, and it also because it looks festive for the holiday season. When worn close to the body, ruby zoicite assists in releasing old energies and in healing. It awakens spirituality and instills a blissful mental and emotional state. It does this by facilitating a connection between the mind and heart, instilling courage, self-confidence, empowerment, and happiness. It’s also one of those rare stones that grounds you while simultaneously opening up your heart and upper chakras as well. In short, it’s pretty awesome.

Look up your chosen stone online and align with its qualities. Admire the natural, unique variations in color and its shape.
Drop a little oil onto your palms again and roll the stone between your hands. Feel it begin to warm as you charge it with your energy and intentions.
Hold the stone close to your heart. Feel your energy truly align with the energy of the stone. You are open to possibilities and you are empowered. See yourself this way in your mind’s eye – open and empowered.
