Planned Parenthood: Do We Have Horror Fatigue?
It is a sickness unto death. Literally. It is a sickness of the soul. We hate our babies. We hate ourselves. We hate our mothers. We hate our fathers. We hate the family. We hate these things because they threaten to restrict our lust for yet more unrestrained sexual pleasure.
How can such a horror be turned around? Do we really have the resources, the time and the power to bring all those unborn children not only into life, but into human flourishing? Do we who are pro life really have the will power to adopt the children, take care of the unwed mothers, nurture the families, raise and educate the children and help them to be part of a healthy and vibrant human family?
How would we even start to fix the terrible mess we have got ourselves into?
No wonder the utilitarians, the economists, the eugenicists say, “The horror is incidental. It is more efficient to kill those babies. We can’t let them continue to breed like that. Pull the weeds.”
How does one begin to attack such a dragon?
So I am inclined to go about my business of the day. I have horror fatigue.
I admit this with sadness and shame, but on the other hand, I will continue to do what I can do to protest the horror.
I will continue with my pro life work. I will encourage my people. I will protest.
But sometimes I feel like the dog barking at the train. He barks not because he thinks the train will stop.
He barks because he is a dog.
I would therefore encourage you who read this blog to do the same. Do not submit to horror fatigue. Do not give in. Keep up the battle.
Join with Mother Mary who tramples down the dragon underfoot.
It may be that the battle is fiercest just before the victory as the night is darkest just before the dawn.
