Persecution of Christians Accelerates Worldwide

Last updated on: July 30, 2015 at 5:44 pm   By Fr. Dwight Longenecker

This article highlights the increasing persecution of Christians worldwide. Christians may be the most persecuted group in the world, and their persecution is on the rise. As Islamic extremism takes hold and repressive governments step up their campaigns against Christianity, the Pope has been moved to warn of “a form of genocide”, and for campaigners to speak out over “religio-ethnic cleansing.” Organisations that monitor religious persecution have rung alarm bells worldwide, from South America to sub-Saharan Africa and from Asia to the... Read more

America the Murderous: A Solemn Prophetic Warning

Last updated on: July 30, 2015 at 4:22 pm   By Fr. Dwight Longenecker

If you haven’t seen the latest video from Center for Medical Progress yet you ought to. The editing and release of the videos…drip, drip, drip has been a brilliant piece of investigative journalism. They did their research, they gathered their footage, they edited it down to show exactly what was going on. Furthermore, it is almost as if they had anticipated the lying denials of Cecile Richards and the rest of her club. She has followed the lead of Bill... Read more

Planned Parenthood Discusses How to Bend the Law in Fourth Video

Last updated on: July 30, 2015 at 10:26 am   By Fr. Dwight Longenecker

Center for Medical Progress has released their fourth video today, and it follows the gruesome reality shown in the third video on Tuesday. In today’s film the Planned Parenthood doctor discusses how they deal with “compensation” to make sure the public relations look good. She assures the “buyers” that the Planned Parenthood lawyers are working hard to ensure that they will not get caught for what they are doing. The graphic section of the video includes more footage of clinicians... Read more

Should We Call the Pope “King Francis”?

Last updated on: July 29, 2015 at 9:28 pm   By Fr. Dwight Longenecker

My article for Aleteia this week explores the idea of a monarchical papacy. Is the pope a monarch? In what way does he stand for the kingdom of God? Should he wear a crown? Seated like a monarch on his throne called the sedia gestatoria the pope would be carried by a squad of men shoulder height. Servants surrounded him waving ornate fans called flabellum—made from ostrich or peacock feathers—an ancient sign of an oriental potentate dating back to the... Read more

The Devil in Detroit

Last updated on: July 29, 2015 at 3:27 pm   By Fr. Dwight Longenecker

My latest article for CRUX explores the image of Baphomet which was unveiled in Detroit and asks whether it has a rightful place outside the Capitol in Arkansas The hideous statue of Baphomet is not, therefore, a harmless exercise in testing the limits of American tolerance. Satan is not just a literary conceit, a philosophical position, or a cultural curiosity, and the statue is not just an interesting ancient artifact. Among their other disturbing activities, the occultists I knew in... Read more

Super Rich Foundations Target Religious Freedom

Last updated on: July 29, 2015 at 1:15 pm   By Fr. Dwight Longenecker

In the wake of the SCOTUS decision to make same sex marriage legal, this article outlines the concerted plans super rich grant making foundations have for targetting religious freedom. A leader in LGBT grant-making has told business leaders that he wants to shut down the political fight for religious freedom exemptions in the U.S. within three years. And these words are not empty rhetoric. A CNA investigation has found that millions of dollars have been poured into efforts to combat religious... Read more

Twelve Causes of Gender Confusion

Last updated on: July 29, 2015 at 3:41 pm   By Fr. Dwight Longenecker

First off, l should be clear: I’m not an expert. I’m not a psychologist. I’m not well read in the topic of gender issues. I have to admit that the whole issue causes me more bewilderment than anything else. Gender confusion confuses me. Picking my way through the maze of these current issues and avoiding the minefield of politically correct booby traps is a trip I don’t care to make. In this post if I use the wrong terminology, get... Read more

The Political Impact of the Planned Parenthood Videos

Last updated on: July 28, 2015 at 12:38 pm   By Fr. Dwight Longenecker

As the Center for Medical Progress continues to roll out their YouTube videos the impact on American consciousness and on the American political scene is bound to be immense. Paul Shimek details some of the political fallout here. John Zmirak weighs in here with his usual biting and scathing wit and style. This one is a must read. First of all, putting the videos out bit by bit in short and easily watched segments is a brilliant move. This will... Read more

Planned Parenthood Video #3

Last updated on: July 28, 2015 at 9:52 am   By Fr. Dwight Longenecker

This week’s video from Center for Medical Progress is out this morning. It is very graphic. Furthermore, the charges that it is “highly edited” and secretive are far less able to be substantiated. It features an interview with a former employee of StemExpress–the company that purchases baby body parts from Planned Parenthood. She details her experience going to a clinic to collect “specimens” The camera then goes into a similar clinic and you hear and see the Planned Parenthood personnel pick... Read more

Ten “Isms” That Are Destroying the Church

Last updated on: July 28, 2015 at 8:23 am   By Fr. Dwight Longenecker

One of the talks I present when I am conducting a parish mission is “The Attack of the Isms” and portray them as an alien attack on rational earthlings. I discuss twelve different forms of relativism, and as Pope Benedict referred to “the dictatorship of Relativism” notice how all ten lead to tyranny of one kind or another. Here are ten “isms” that are attacking our culture and destroying the church. These are really ten informal heresies–most Americans are not... Read more
