This week, many actresses have spoken out about the gender pay gap in Hollywood. From Sharon Stone to Jennifer Lawrence, they claim that for every $1 a man in Hollywood makes, a woman makes only $0.40.
It’s ironic that there is such a gender pay gap in Hollywood, when the whole town is run by liberals. It just goes to prove that liberals want to scream about social injustice and inequality, but don’t want to do anything about it if it’s going to cost them anything.
It appears that the very definition of courage in Hollywood is to be a puppet for progressivism that trots out the same stale, false talking points.
Such hypocrites!
Thankfully, some beautiful and talented women in Hollywood still have common sense. I thought what Kate Winslet said this week about all of the screaming about equal pay was really interesting. She said that she thought speaking so publically about money was “vulgar” and said, “I haven’t ever felt that I’ve really had to stick up for myself just because I’m a woman.”
As I said on Outnumbered this week, in order to be a successful actress, you have to know your value. Kate Winslet obviously knows hers. She is confident in who she is and her skills and she doesn’t seem to make salary negotiations about her gender, but instead about what she is going to bring to the table for the role.
Hollywood women don’t need to play the victims. They need to be better negotiators!
We are strong and capable, and we need to stand up and demand more for ourselves. We don’t need handouts. We need more self-confidence and an understanding of just how valuable we are. We will get paid more, when we first believe in ourselves more!
