Pluto goes direct today in Capricorn closely squaring Uranus in Aries. Mercury, the planet of communication just went into Libra, the sign of balance and fairness; add to that the Sun going into Libra for the Autumnal Equinox on Saturday and we’ve got a very distinct shifting of energy. Skipping down life’s stepping stone path, we’re once again at a point where one segment of time makes way for a new segment of time and with that comes new opportunities, feelings, insights and actions.

When Pluto, the planet of transformation, death and re-birth makes a station and moves forward, whether it’s the subtle, yet powerful inner psychological transformation or the dramatic outward expression of massive groups of people in unrest and protest, there is an unmistakable sense of pressure and the knowledge that deep rumbling is taking place. This time period can not only be marked with all kinds of unexpected change but also a relentless feeling of pressure. Pressure to accomplish, pressure to achieve, pressure to balance so many overwhelming aspects of everyday life, pressure to change with Uranus squaring Pluto, the over arching theme is “Pressure to Change”.

This is a time to take steps towards empowerment. Releasing anything that has become abusive, obsolete or otherwise non-productive, it is a great time to take an active stance towards gaining more control or power over your life, and not in a compulsive manic way, but with a deep, peaceful focus. Whether it is with your diet, your money, your partner or your relationship to your own psyche, these next few days will unleash a force that moves through us and activates power. It may feel like taking the reins, taking the helm and consciously steering a conscious course towards the next goal, as opposed to letting the ship drift as it may. Now is the time to take over, activate, motivate and transform.

Libra is about balance and the dance that occurs to maintain equilibrium. The constant shifting and course correcting that happens as we move through experience and adapt and adjust in order to refine and advance the quality of our lives.

Creating harmony between the energy of Uranus, chaos, change, unpredictable surprise and Pluto, compulsive control, manipulation and depth plunging takes our Libra cosmic dancer skills to a whole new level.

During the next month we can approach the challenges with the skillful artistry of a Modern Dancer, always moving and bending and jumping and turning in accordance with the rhythm of the cosmic music of the spheres. Applying compromise and flexibility between controlling and letting go, controlling and letting go, with a constant reminder to stay in the present, stay in the now. Breathe deeply into your own body, and even though you care for them deeply, don’t run anyone else’s troubles or problems or energy through your own body. This is the balance between the self and the other, both sides of duality are necessary to create the whole. Enjoy the contrast and diversity, enjoy the seemingly opposite, disparate energy, for it is what creates the engine of our eternal striving, our ceaseless progression. The energy of unrest can be experienced joyfully, because we have to secretly admit without it, we would lie down and go to sleep. Yay Libra, lets mediate, negotiate and co-create our way through the next month.
