New Year’s Rule

New Year’s Rule 2012-01-01T01:00:41-07:00 Ragan Sutterfield

LOGO Patheos Explore the world's faith through different perspectives on religion and spirituality! Patheos has the views of the prevalent religions and spiritualities of the world.

Order your life–put the principles and practices of your spiritual life into a kind of contract.

The monastics called this a rule of life.

The Rule of St. Benedict is a foundational rule, but there are many simpler ones.

Consider using “The Soul WOD Rule of Life” as a template, but add in what you think necessary for your development in Christlikeness over the next year.

Think about what specific practices might help you overcome or develop more fully areas where you are lacking spiritually (e.g. confession or practicing God’s presence).

Spend time this first day of the new year writing your rule and praying about it. Then share it with your friends, church, family and commit to following it over the next year.
