Parenting… it’s been a learning process. According to what other parents have said, it seems we have a fairly “low maintenance” baby, but that doesn’t mean we haven’t faced our fair share of challenges. Like most parents, we’ve battled sleeping habits, we’ve been peed on, pooped on, and spit up on more times than we can count, and we’re trying to find a balance of raising our baby while working from home. But I must say, all in all, being a parent is pretty awesome. But today, I’m going to share a not so awesome (but pretty funny) story with you.

Last Sunday, we drove to McKinney (town north of Dallas) to see my niece Kensington sing at church. Before leaving the house, I dressed Samuel in a nice little dress shirt with pants and shoes. As he usually does, Samuel fell asleep on the thirty minute car ride up there. Once we got there, I tried my best to quietly remove his carseat from the car so as not to wake him. Once we entered the church, we met my parents in the foyer. It was about that time Samuel started to wake up. My dad, who always wants to hold his grandson, asked me if he could take him out of his carseat. Of course I said yes so my dad pulled Samuel out to hold him.

Here’s where the story gets messy. It was about 10 seconds after pulling Samuel from his carseat that my dad said, “uh oh” and noticed a small amount poop on his hand. It seemed that Samuel had blown out his diaper and it was now on my dad’s hand… or so we wished that was all it was. As I grabbed Samuel from my dad so that he could go wash his hands, we noticed that my dad’s blazer was COVERED in Samuel’s poop. I’ve never seen anything like it. The entire left side of my dad’s jacket was covered in baby poop (It’s important to note that Samuel had gone a couple of days without pooping before this took place). And not only was my dad covered in poop, Samuel had covered his shirt, pants and shoes in poop as well. The kid absolutely exploded.

But wait, that’s not all.  Not even close. Click continue to see what happened next.
