There’s much to say about the “overnight dates” on the Bachelor which happen next week. You could laugh at the sometimes ridiculously old fashioned key that is presented.  (When was the last time you actually got a key at a hotel?)  You could laugh at how surprised everyone seems to be.  (What?  An overnight date?  I’ve never thought of this!)  You could laugh at how everyone acts like in real life they would never consider being physical this soon, but since this is so unusual it has to be right. But the worst thing about the overnight dates comes at the subsequent rose ceremonies.  That’s when the bachelor or bachelorettes walks into the room, now that he or she has had sex with several of them. The “contestants” usually compete for eye-contact.

Each girl or guy in this situation always feels like they have it in the bag (whether or not they had sex).  There’s something about spending time off camera that gives that false sense of assurance.

I’ve said it a million times, but this is a tough situation that’s hard to navigate very well…

Which, I guess, is why so many people tune in! Good luck!
