You guys know my friend Elan Gale, the Bachelor producer who makes Sideshow Bob’s hair look conservative? Well he recently celebrated his birthday, and had this wish:
Hello everyone,
As some of you know, today is my birthday, and I want to celebrate this year in the same way I have celebrated my birthday for the last two years. I am more than a little uncomfortable with the idea of being given congratulations and gifts just because my parents made me 31 years and 9 months ago and I have (so far) managed not to die. So, once again, if you love me, like me, or even hate me, I am asking for a favor on this day, my birthday:
There’s a wonderful organization called Next Door Solutions and they have one very clear mission: “To end domestic violence in the moment and for all time.”
If you want to give me a gift I humbly ask you to click on THIS LINK and give as much as you are willing and able to Next Door Solutions. Whether you can give 1 dollar or 1 thousand dollars, every single penny helps, and today, to do my part…
For EVERY SINGLE DOLLAR that every one of you donates, I will also donate 1 DOLLAR, up until the first $10,000.00.
So, if you donate $10, you’re really donating $20. If you donate $50, you’re really donating $100. It’s MAGICAL and it’s AMAZING.
He goes on to write that everyone is affected by domestic violence… even if you don’t realize it.
I know this is a hot topic in the news, but it’s something we should think about more on a regular basis. Elan continues:
So, if you’ve gotten this far, PLEASE click HERE, give a donation and type “theyearofelan” into the matching gifts box and magically double your donation. Please help me give this amazing charity and this worthy cause $10,000 today! All I want to do is donate this money but I need your help!
Hey, seriously. I love you. I love that you’re reading this. I love that you’ve taken the time and let me into your life and let me borrow your eyes and brain for a few minutes. Admittedly, without this outlet I don’t know what I would do and I promise I’ll try to keep making you smile or cry or cringe whenever I can.
I love ALL of you. Except for my neighbor Gary. He can go to hell.
