LOGO Patheos Explore the world's faith through different perspectives on religion and spirituality! Patheos has the views of the prevalent religions and spiritualities of the world.

If your heart is broken….if you feel like you can’t breathe….if you wake up in the middle of the night and your heart is pounding….
Take a deep breath, dear one.  You’re going to be okay.

If you worry about the future….if you can’t see past your past….if tomorrow feels more like a threat than a promise…..

Lay that burden down.  You’re going to be okay.

If you have more month than money…..if the math does not add up…..if you’ve exhausted all your options….

Help is coming.  It’s coming.  And you’re going to be okay.

If you’re too confused to see straight…..if all your options seem like dead-ends…..if your life’s riddles have no answers…..

Breathe in, and then breathe out.  Because you’re going to be okay.

Emily said,

“Hope” is the thing with feathers –

That perches in the soul –

And sings the tune without the words –

And never stops – at all –

***

Hope is the thing.

In spite of all the unwanteds and unwitnessed and unknowns of your life, somewhere the sun is rising.

And tomorrow it will rise again.

Somewhere a baby is taking its first breath.

And tomorrow, new life will arrive again.

Somewhere Divine Love is finding a way to break through the darkness.

And tomorrow, it will try again.

Somewhere hope is singing.

Can you hear it?

And tomorrow it will sing again.

In all the dangers, toils and snares, hope is the thing to which you can always cling, listen & trust.

It’s the thing with feathers,

the thing that perches,

the thing that is always about to take flight.

And it never stops

– at all.
