LOGO Patheos Explore the world's faith through different perspectives on religion and spirituality! Patheos has the views of the prevalent religions and spiritualities of the world.

I know I haven’t written in this ol’ blog as often as I should. Life’s been busy and exhausting. I keep telling myself I’ll get back to this someday, and I really do believe that’s true–especially since I’ll soon be quitting the fast food job that sucks away 90% of my energy and creativity.

You folks can hold me to it. I’m a writer, damn it. I need to write.

So here’s some of my New Year goals for the blog:

*Start a reread of The Bible, reading it not as a Biblical literalist with something to defend. I’m not a Biblical literalist anymore. I don’t even know if I really count as a Christian. So I hope I can bring a fresh, feminist perspective to this read-through. I will blog about what I find.

*Update you on my research project. So, I’m doing a project for my senior capstone that is a content analysis of Christian dating books. I’ll be analyzing them to see how they discuss (or fail to discuss) rape, sexual assault, consent, etc. I’ll be reading some “good” ones: Real Marriage, I Kissed Dating Goodbye, When God Writes Your Love Story, Dating With Pure Passion, and Love and Respect. This blog will probably get to hear my initial analyses, as well as any rants that these books may provoke.

*Share my internship experiences. In addition to my research project, I’m also going to be working at an internship 8 hours per week. It’s going to be a busy year. I’m not sure what the internship is going to be, but I’m trying to get into Planned Parenthood, so we’ll see how that goes!

*Write something at least 3 times per week. Simple enough, right?

Anyway, thanks for reading, despite my inconsistency. Happy Holidays!
