Announcing My New Book: Christian Theology 2026-07-13T17:31:39-05:00 Roger E. Olson

Someone alerted me to the presence of my new book on Amazon. It’s not available yet, but, if you are interested, you can look there and read about it. It will be published by InterVarsity Press.

This one, entitled Christian Theology: How to Think about the Faith, is a kind of magnum opus even if not in size. It sums up my thinking about Christian beliefs so far. I wanted the subtitle to be “Classic and Contemporary,” but publishers assign titles to book. I did agree to this subtitle as I thought it was better than some others. But “Classic and Contemporary” describes the book well. It’s kind of a systematic theology, although I think of it as a “dogmatics,” but it refers to many historical Christian theologians and to modern and contemporary ones.

I know there are other systematic theologies/dogmatics written by Arminian theologians, but most are Wesleyan. I am not Wesleyan. So some have called my type of Arminian theology “Reformed Arminianism.” Many, many people have asked me to recommend an Arminian systematic theology, so I decided to write my own. There it is (or will be).

Please keep it in mind. It’s physical publication is a way off, but put it on your list of books to buy.
