Is Allah God? by Carl Medearis
Last updated on: January 1, 2013 at 4:01 am By editorconvergingzone
I think Carl hit’s all the possibilities, but in the end the greatest opportunity comes when we seek common ground, seek to understand and discover together. I like Carl’s experiential and truth filled message below. R.R. Is Allah God? The answer: Yes! I mean, No. Well, okay, possibly. The problem with answering difficult questions is that the answers don’t fit on a bumper sticker. So, we have to fully engage our minds and hearts in answering a question like this.... Read more

Instead of New Goals for a New Year…Try this by Richard Dahlstrom
Last updated on: December 29, 2012 at 9:23 pm By editorconvergingzone
Goal Setting can steal peace from your soul I like goals that are measurable and have lots of them: Ski 100k vertical feet in January (now objectively measurable courtesy of a nifty phone app), trim 15 seconds off jogging “per mile” time by the end of February, eat 5 servings of veggies per day (by far the hardest), be consistent in my reading, praying, journaling, blog at least once a week, finish book proposal. I’m close to throwing all these... Read more

What On Earth Am I Here For? by Rick Warren
Last updated on: December 28, 2012 at 9:59 pm By editorconvergingzone
At some point we’ve all questioned why we’re alive. Whether you or someone you know is struggling to find their life mission, here are five specific purposes for which God created us. Everyone in your congregation wants to know if life really matters. Members, visitors, even your staff want to know: What on earth am I here for? Essentially, they’re asking three basic questions. First, there’s the question of existence: Why am I alive? For thousands of years people have... Read more

Christmas Season Faith For Miracles by Robert Ricciardelli
Last updated on: December 25, 2012 at 6:38 pm By editorconvergingzone
Christmas will always have many more advocates than detractors. Yes it is busy, yes there may be times of wrongful focus, and yes there will be those who question the origin of the day. The key for how we will engage with this season and on this day comes down to perspective. Christmas for many is an encounter, a great encounter, and the historical reminder of God’s most significant encounter with mankind. God brought Himself to the world to show... Read more

Luke 2:8-12: Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day... Read more

Love Remains Dormant Until We Act by Robert Ricciardelli
Last updated on: December 23, 2012 at 1:51 pm By editorconvergingzone
To want love, or to believe in the power of love is wonderful, but the power of love will remain dormant until we decide to act upon the love of God within us. Actions speak louder than words and people have heard “I love you” many times while remaining starved for real acts of love and affection. The greatest purpose of our existence is to love and to be an ambassador for God’s love to the world. God is love,... Read more

Moving Beyond Legalism and Libertinism by Frank Viola
Last updated on: December 16, 2012 at 10:01 pm By editorconvergingzone
“History,” Martin Luther said, “is like a drunk man on a horse. No sooner does he fall off on the left side, does he mount again and fall off on the right.”The same can be said about the Christian life. (So it seems to me anyway.) Some have accepted the gospel of legalism. Reformed people tend to restrict legalism to be the attempt to earn salvation by human works. But for the genuine Christian who is saved by grace, legalism... Read more
