Patheos September 2023 Featured Writer Rebecca Keene 2024-11-21T13:43:57-07:00 Alan Crandall

LOGO Patheos Explore the world's faith through different perspectives on religion and spirituality! Patheos has the views of the prevalent religions and spiritualities of the world.

In 2014, Rebecca Keene graduated with honors from the University of Pikeville, with a degree in Psychology and Religion. Currently, she is studying for a MA in Women, Gender, Spirituality, and Social Justice at the California Institute of Integral Studies. Keene is also currently in her 3rd year of Kabbalah study. She is ordained to perform LGBT weddings and is certified in Hypnotherapy. She practices Non-Denominational Judaism. She is passionate about social justice and fiercely advocates for the marginalized in society and religion.

Keene is the author of Faith Under the Rainbow: Reclaiming the Truth About Homosexuality and the Bible. In addition, she founded and independently runs the social media community, Reclaiming the Truth.

When not with her children or writing, Keene enjoys spending time in nature, with G-d, or in a good book. She also enjoys making and selling art which you can find at Art by Rebecca. Rebecca lives in Kentucky with her two adult children.

Keene says this about writing for Patheos, “I love writing for Patheos, because Patheos allows for great diversity of thought. As a writer at Patheos, I have the freedom to write about my personal faith and share that with the world, without fear of censorship. Also, Patheos has helped me grow my audience and connect with new members of my faith community.”

She adds this advice to future Patheos writers, “I would suggest future writers stay true to their own voice, work on SEO, and have fun. Patheos allows you to express yourself freely, while teaching your faith to thousands. This is an opportunity few of us have in life. Therefore, speak your truth while you have the opportunity. While staying true to your own voice, try to improve your SEO and get a SEO score of at least ‘good’ on every page and post. This will greatly grow your audience, over time. Finally, have fun with it. Sharing your faith should be enjoyable.”
