About

Dr. Tricia Gates Brown is an accomplished theologian, author, and spiritual writer with a Ph.D. in New Testament Studies from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland. Her work is deeply rooted in decades of scholarly study, personal spiritual exploration, and a commitment to fostering compassion and nonviolence.

After an upbringing in fundamentalist-evangelical Christianity, Dr. Brown’s journey has been one of questioning, learning, and expanding her understanding of faith. Her writing often explores the intersection of spirituality, justice, and human transformation, drawing on Christian, Buddhist, and interfaith traditions. She is particularly passionate about contemplative practices, the historical Jesus, and how ancient texts inform modern lives.

Her academic rigor, years of teaching theology, and personal commitment to spiritual growth inform Dr. Brown’s perspective. She continues to inspire readers with insights into how faith, love, and mindfulness can shape a meaningful life, including in her work as an ordained deacon in the Episcopal Diocese of Oregon, helping lead a Spanish-language congregation.
