EKKL Launches: A Brand-New Faith-Focused Entertainment Hub 2026-07-08T16:00:22-04:00 DeWayne Hamby

Entertainment veteran Michael Scott announced the launch of EKKL Entertainment, a faith-and-family streaming and lifestyle hub that aims to bring “trusted stories, voices and experiences” into a single destination for viewers seeking uplifting content.

Pronounced EK-UHL and derived from the Greek word ‘ekklesia,’ meaning a gathering of people united by purpose, EKKL launched today, positioning itself as more than a streaming service.

“We like to say we’re a 360 platform,” Scott said, describing a site that will combine film and television with podcasts, audiobooks, prayer and devotionals, community features, commerce and travel benefits. “EKKL every day,” he added, explaining the intent that subscribers will find daily touchpoints of inspiration rather than content that surfaces only weekly or monthly.

At the platform’s core is an explicitly faith-centered mission: “we’re going to have prayer and devotionals,” Scott said, noting those elements will include Scripture, worship and encouragement designed to “inspire and uplift” viewers.

Founded by Scott — co-founder and former CEO of Pure Flix and a longtime distributor in faith-and-family entertainment whose projects have generated more than $200 million worldwide — EKKL was created in partnership with Willie and Korie Robertson of Duck Dynasty and producers of the recent film “The Blind,” and with Zach Dasher, a leader in podcasting and digital platforms. Scott traced his relationship with the Robertsons back to early collaborations, saying their partnership grew out of shared work on “God’s Not Dead” and later on “The Blind.”

“We really realized after we did The Blind, we’re like, ‘Gosh, we need a place where people can come’,” he said.

The platform’s curated library will include well-known Robertson projects — “we’re going to have their show, ‘Duck Dynasty,’ on it as well,” Scott said — while also welcoming a broader slate of films and series from “trusted storytellers.” Scott emphasized that the platform aims to be a single price solution for families seeking wholesome entertainment.

“We want to be that place where we can say, ‘You can get it all here on one platform’,” he said.

EKKL’s strategy seeks to address a growing fragmentation in how audiences consume media. Scott observed that while movies might be watched occasionally, audiences increasingly engage with podcasts, audiobooks and short-form content in their daily routines. By gathering multiple content types in one place, EKKL hopes to become part of those everyday rhythms.

“You might watch a movie once a week, but you might find your favorite podcast or your audiobook,” Scott said. “We’re going to have all those things.”

In addition to media, EKKL plans commercial and lifestyle benefits.

“We also have an incredible travel shop and health platform that our members will be able to get deep discounts on stuff,” he said. Those extensions are pitched as ways to both add value beyond streaming and to create real-world opportunities for community and shared experiences.

EKKL will be available across major devices and platforms, Scott said, including mobile phones, smart TVs, Roku, Apple TV and web. The goal—make content accessible “across the board” so families can stream or download in the way that best suits their habits.

Industry watchers noted that EKKL arrives amid a competitive streaming landscape crowded with niche services. Scott’s experience in faith-based distribution, coupled with the Robertson brand and a technology focus led by Dasher, is intended to give the platform credibility and reach.

Scott said the platform’s early programming will reflect stories with heart, humor and hope.

“When you walk away from that piece of content you watch or that podcast you listen to, we want you to be inspired,” he said. “We want you to say, ‘Wow, that was incredible. That spoke to me deeply.’”

EKKL’s launch represents an evolution in faith-and-family media: from single-format streaming to an ‘ecosystem’ that ties content to daily spiritual practices, commerce and community. As Scott described it, the platform is designed to be “a trusted home for entertainment, inspiration and connection.”

Scott invited viewers to visit EKKL.com to learn more about the platform and its offerings. With familiar voices on board and an explicit emphasis on uplifting, faith-informed content, EKKL seeks to stake a claim as a gathering place for families who want entertainment that aligns with their values.
