Ainsley Earhardt Reflects on Faith, Freedom, New Kids Book 2026-06-09T16:08:10-04:00 DeWayne Hamby

Fox News anchor Ainsley Earhardt’s  new children’s book, “America, I’m So Glad You Were Born,” arrives as a bright, rhyming tribute to the freedoms and traditions that shape the nation’s identity, pairing Kim Barnes’ colorful illustrations with a message that is both celebratory and rooted in faith.

Told in lively verse and illustrated with parades, fireworks and everyday American scenes, the book is designed “to teach our children of our great country and what God has done for us,” Earhardt said, describing the project as a patriotic follow-up to her earlier title, “I’m So Glad You Were Born.” The publisher approached her with the idea of creating an edition for the country’s 250th birthday, and she embraced the chance to write “so that we can teach our children” about the nation’s founding ideals.

The book’s narrative gently guides young readers through the concepts of liberty and opportunity, celebrating the promise that “you can be anything you want to be.” Earhardt draws a direct line from the freedoms the book honors to the opportunities she has enjoyed in her own life.

“(I’m) Just incredibly blessed,” she said of her career at Fox News, recalling the first time she walked into the network’s New York offices. “I still pinch myself when I walk into Fox News Channel, and I’ve been there for almost 20 years.”

Earhardt’s story of persistence — seven years of overnight shifts, long hours and weekend assignments — is woven into the book’s underlying lesson about hard work and gratitude.

“In America, if you work really hard and you say yes to your boss; they knew they could rely on me,” she said. That ethic, she suggests, is part of the American dream the book seeks to instill: the idea that opportunity is broadly available to those who pursue it.

Faith is an explicit and central theme of the book and of Earnhardt’s own perspective. She frames American freedoms as God-given rights, affirming that “our founding fathers had such deep faith that they wrote that into the Constitution.”

“These rights were given to us by God,” she said, adding that the ability “to worship however you want to worship” is a distinguishing feature of American life and a core idea she wanted the book to convey.

Earhardt spoke plainly about the difference religious freedom makes to children growing up in the United States.

“Even our Constitution talks about our God-given rights,” she said. “We have the ability to worship wherever we want to worship, and have that freedom.” She contrasted that liberty with conditions in other countries where religious expression can be restricted or punished and expressed gratitude for being “born in America” into a family with military service and a tradition of sacrifice.

Her faith also carried her through the demands of a competitive career. While recounting the long stretches of overnight work early in her career, she described how Bible study and prayer sustained her.

“We would all meet in my living room and we would just pray,” she said.

She recalled a preacher’s lesson that waiting can deepen dependence on God — an observation she said played out repeatedly in her life as opportunities slowly unfolded.

“If there’s something that I really would like that will alter my life and make it better, God always makes me wait a long time for that,” Earhardt said.

The book does not shy from civic themes either. It celebrates American symbols and institutions, from the stars and stripes to the rights of free speech, religion and the ballot.

“We celebrate diversity. Everyone in our country is equal,” Earnhardt said, underscoring an inclusive message that the book hopes to convey to young readers. She also emphasizes the role of the military in securing those freedoms, noting that her family’s service informed her appreciation for the nation’s protections.

For parents and educators, the book offers a simple, upbeat way to introduce children to complex ideas about civic life and moral gratitude. The rhyming text and festive images make it accessible for young audiences, while Earhardt’s narrative — shaped by personal experience and faith — gives the book a clear point of view.

Earhardt’s media presence, as a familiar face on morning television, helps amplify that message.

“I still remember walking through those doors for my interview the very first time,” she said. “When I was flying into New York City, wow, I said, ‘God, this is my life’,” she said.

“America, I’m So Glad You Were Born” is an invitation to families to celebrate nationhood with gratitude and faith. Earhardt said she hopes the book will remind children that America’s promises are both practical and spiritual: “You can be whoever you want to be, and if you want your dreams to come true, they can.”
