Wonder Project has released the first look at its new family drama “It’s Not Like That,” starring Scott Foley, Erinn Hayes, and J.R. Ramirez. The series will premiere with two episodes on the streamer on January 25 with subsequent episodes debuting weekly thereafter. Wonder Project will also sample the first episode on Prime Video for all subscribers on January 25, with a global release on Prime Video to follow at a later date.

“It’s Not Like That” follows Malcolm (Foley), a pastor and recently widowed dad of three. Lori (Hayes) is freshly divorced with two teens. Their families once did everything together, but now Malcolm and Lori must navigate their newly minted singledom, parenthood and the complexities of Malcolm being a modern-day pastor. Is this the beginning of a love story? It’s not like that. Or is it?
From Ian Deitchman and Kristin Robinson, known for beloved classics like “Life As We Know It” and “Parenthood,” the series blends modern family drama with themes of connection, second chances, and navigating life after major transitions.
“‘It’s Not Like That’ is a show about two families dealing with immense loss and change, leaning on each other and their shared faith, finding a way forward together,” creators Ian Deitchman and Kristin Robinson said in a statement. “The title is a wink to our rom com roots, but more importantly, it speaks to the essence of our show. As we move through the world, we all make assumptions about each other, misunderstand one another. We look through our own narrow lens, and that is rarely the whole or real picture.”
Watch the first trailer below. “It’s Not Like That” will premiere January 26 on Wonder Project.
