The Trumpets of Revelation Blew and No One Noticed
The trumpets of Revelation blew, and no one noticed. Jesus said in Luke 17:28, “And the world will be as it was in the days of Lot. People went about their daily business—eating and drinking, buying and selling, farming and building.” That was one prediction Jesus got right.
The Trumpets of Revelation
On Rosh Hashanah 2026 the temple trumpets were blown on Temple Mount for the first time in thousands of years. Traditionally the trumpets should be blown with the Shofar, but for thousands of years the temple trumpets were not sounded, because Jewish movement on Temple Mount was restricted. This year trumpets were snuck onto Temple Mount and sounded along with the Shofar for the first time in thousands of years.
Everyone Slept Through It
Yet, it wasn’t on the news. It wasn’t what every Christian church was talking about. Christians who have spent their entire lives reading Revelation 8 and even praying for the end times still don’t even know that the trumpets sounded at the same place G-d once sat on this Earth. To be fair, the text does say, “seven angels with the seven trumpets…” implying that the trumpets would be blown by a heavenly host not by man. However, Temple Mount is the closest thing on Earth to heaven, and the text implies man will hear the blasts. Temple Mount is where G-d himself sat and rested his feet upon The Ark. Truly, if we are waiting for trumpet blasts, they have already come.
More Trumpets of Revelation Coming
There were three blasts of the trumpets, and participants, though being detained, said they planned to sound them again on Sukkot. Whether you would count these three blasts as the first trumpet in Revelation or the first three, I’m not sure, but there is one thing of which I am certain. The first trumpet of Revelation sounded.
Revelation Predicts a Scorched Earth
Revelation 8:5 tells us that before the first trumpet is blown, “Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and hurled it to the earth; and there were peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes of lightning, and an earthquake.” That means fire was poured out on the earth before the trumpets blew. 2026 has seen major fires all over the Earth, even before Rosh Hashanah. By August Canada reported 4.1 million hectares burned. California reported more than 5,400 wildfires this year. According to The Joint Research Centre, by 16 September, EU countries had burned about 669,000 hectares, Spain exceeded 200,000 hectares by late July, and France has already passed 90,000 hectares. Portugal, Greece, Croatia, and Albania also experienced significant fires.
Earthquakes, Volcanoes, and Fire
Revelation 8:5 also calls for an earthquake to happen before the trumpet, and it did. On Sept. 11 shortly before Rosh Hashanah there was a 6.0 earthquake in the Banda Sea and later that night there was a 6.5-magnitude earthquake near Java. Meanwhile, Krakatau in Indonesia had been erupting since Sept. 9 and continued throughout Rosh Hashanah, spewing ash, fire, and lava.
After the trumpet blows, Revelation 8:7 tells us what to expect. “Then the first angel sounded his trumpet, and hail and fire mixed with blood were hurled down upon the earth. A third of the earth was burned up, along with a third of the trees and all the green grass.” 1/3 of the earth has not yet been burnt, but the fires are still raging. Lava is still flowing. The world is still burning. According to Revelation, now that the trumpet has blown, 1/3 of the earth will eventually be scorched.
Gē: World or Land
Further, the Greek word gē translated to Earth in English could also be translated as land or country. In that case, we should look at the land the book has always been about, The Holy Land. There, Gaza has lost 87% of its cropland. Gaza is about 365 km², while UNOSAT estimates its cropland at roughly 150 km², or about 41% of Gaza’s total territory. If approximately 87% of that 150 km² of cropland is damaged:
150 × .87 ≈ 130.5 km² damaged cropland.
And:
130.5 ÷ 365 ≈ 35.8%. That is a little more than one-third. I could not find comparable acreage figures allowing me to calculate the same percentage across the West Bank and Israel, but both have also suffered extensive crop damage. Whether the affected portion of the Holy Land as a whole approaches one-third therefore remains an open question.
Repent! Revelation Is Now!
Revelation is happening now. The Tribulation is now. Stop being as it was in the days of Lot. Stop going about your daily business—eating and drinking, buying and selling, farming and building. Repent!! The period between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur is the days of reflection and repentance. The trumpets and the Shofar call us to return to G-d and turn away from idol worship and sin. The trumpets and the Shofar were a wake-up call. Do not be caught asleep.
