(Potentially offensive wording follows.)

A friend of mine told me that the lyrics to the song “A.D.” in Hatebreed’s new “Concrete Confessional” album reminded him of my views.

If you’ve never heard of Hatebreed, or listen to heavy metal, you might hit ‘play’ with your sound volume muted or at 3%.

The video below only has the lyrics and the audio, but the video after is a live performance of the song. Check it out:

The band’s vocalist, also the writer of every song, Jamey Jasta said “A.D.”

was a way that I could voice my frustration about the loss of opportunities available to the average guy. With the government and big business drowning in corruption and greed, the average person is being squeezed, so achieving the American dream is becoming less and less real. We all need to pay closer attention to what our elected leaders are doing. Start locally, in your own community, make your representatives accountable.

I can dig it.

There’s music we’ll be exposed to here and there that might discuss pertinent issues – but where is it and who is creating it? Share more songs/artists in the comments.

Until next time,

Keith Michael Estrada
