Used without care, generative AI has the capacity to fabricate, misquote, or subtly distort Scripture at a scale no scribe could match.”

The Apologist Project

What has been the common theme since the Garden of Eden? The age old battle, God versus Satan. There are times I don’t understand, I want to sit with Father God during the cool of the day and ask, “Why? Why do we have to sit through this age old battle of him who steals, kills, and destroys when Jesus, the Author and Finisher of the Faith has overcome? Yet here we are. Walking day to day trying to find meaning and purpose in life. Some have fallen into the trap of self absorbance, others have delved into depression that is deep and dark, and then, there are those who want to follow God and understand His ways. That is where I have found myself recently, dear ones. My house is empty, the silence is often too much to bear yet, I hear the voice of Him crying to me and saying, “Speak the Word! I’ve called you since you were little, I was the voice calling you in the night, serve Me.” All of this begs the question, does AI align with Biblical principles, or is it yet another tool of Satan to try and out maneuver Father God? Personally, I believe AI is much like the tower of Babel, an artifice that tried to find God in the clouds. I hope you all will stay with me during this deep dive into what I believe that Father is saying. I submit it with fear and trembling to Him who sits on the Throne.

Let’s start at the beginning

In the Garden of Eden, there was absolute perfection. Can you take a moment and imagine what it was like to walk with God in the cool of the Day? I am a southerner, I long for the cool of the day, especially in the Summer. It can be brutal here in the deep South. It is refreshing and life-giving to feel a cool breeze after a hot day.  God in His goodness understood that need for those who live in more punishing climates. To be cool is to be refreshed, to be with God is a feeling unmatched by any human experience we have. Now Lucifer, who had been cast from Heaven saw God’s fellowship with Adam, God’s creation. It was a reflection of Father God and it probably made Satan jealous. Actually, he was jealous. So much so that he approached Eve and enticed her to eat of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. I can imagine in his evil way that he said, “There! Take that God! Let’s see how great your creation is now!” He’s so gross and the forever loser. It takes some chutzpah to challenge the Creator of the universe. Dear readers, that is the point of AI. To challenge the knowledge and inherit power of God the Father. The people who designed this want to reach their “Tower of Babel,” I have news for them, it will fall until the appointed time which is laid out in the book of Revelation.

Scripture does have some clues as to what AI means

Did you know that there is a city called Ai in the Scripture? Why yes, there was! In the land of Canaan there was a city called Ai. Its meaning is particularly interesting, it means “heap of ruins” that is what I believe Father thinks of AI (when it is used nefariously). We are God’s creation, AI is man’s creation. There is a huge difference between intelligence and wisdom. Intelligence can be inert and it is in AI, but wisdom? It is gained through God’s Word. We are made in God’s image, “Imago Dei.” Artificial Intelligence is made in the image of man, an attempt to take the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil and be like God. Guess what happens when you build your tower of Babel in your wanton hubris? Father God steps from His throne and knocks it down, He confounds the language of the people and says, “There is only one way to wisdom, and I am that way.” Right now there are arguments by many on both sides of the political aisle that believe AI will replace the need for humans in fundamental ways. I do think this will happen in the future, but not quite yet.  This is my supposition that I humbly submit to you, dear readers. Jesus is coming back for a church without spot or wrinkle. The state of the church at the moment is a hectic mess. Unity? Maybe a long time ago. There first must be a Great Awakening to bring more people to God before the time of the Anti-Christ. I submit that AI will have a setback, initiated by Father God so that we can have the time of awakening.

Ai in the Bible was a hot mess

In Au, the Israelites, led by Joshua were fresh from the walls of Jericho falling down. God had given them one specific instruction, not to take any spoils from the victory. He did not want any sin from the wicked people of Ai to enter the Israelite camp. A man named Achan did not heed the call, and took some treasures for himself. In his greed, he caused the Israelites to suffer a humiliating defeat. When Joshua inquired of the Lord as to why they lost the battle, God told him of Achan’s sin. Achan was punished, Israel repented and finally defeated the city of Ai. You may ask, how does this even remotely have anything to do with modern AI? I’ve said it often, unless God builds the house, the people labor in vain. AI is for all intents and purposes a labor in vain. Does that mean that AI is inherently bad? Not necessarily, but have those who dared embark on this technology journey gone before God to check their hearts? I doubt it. The technicians who wrote the code and implemented the projects may have had good intentions but right now in the state of the world? Modern day AI could become a heap of ruins like Ai of old. I submit it is a time to take a moment and pray about it.

A tale as old as time

As I discussed in my last article, I am a Scriptural continuationist. I believe that God’s Word is an active document that can be used today. It hasn’t changed because Jesus hasn’t changed. Also, the Scripture tells us: For our struggle is not against flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this [present] darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places. That means, there is a battle waging in the Spirit that we cannot see with our eyes. This battle has raged since before the Garden of Eden. In the book of Isaiah, the Scripture tells us that Lucifer fell from Heaven due to his pride, he wanted to be God Almighty. Lucifer, which means “light bearer” in his rage, managed to take a third of the angels with him when he was cast out. You can also read a bit more about it in Ezekiel 28 and Luke 10. I would like to point out one very interesting tidbit. In 2025, Daystar partnered with MindHYVE.ai, Inc to have an AI platform. One of the names of Lucifer was “Daystar” or “Star of the morning” in Hebrew it was  hēlēl ben šāḥar  which means, “shining one or son of the dawn.” Is this a mere coincidence or is it the age old battle between God and the forever loser? It is definitely worth prayerfully considering this supposition. What God creates, Satan counterfeits.

How do I use AI and walk with God?

We’ve said it over and over, the world is at such a precarious place. Creation is groaning from the absolute sin and filth that has ravaged our world. Again, I am going to step on some sacred toes, but as I mentioned in my last article, there have been more than 64 million abortions since the inception of Roe v. Wade. The blood is crying out from God’s creation, He is patient not wanting anyone to spend eternity away from Him, but even His patience grows thin. Which begs the question, can we use AI and walk with God? I would direct you back to Joshua and the 2 battles of Ai. We must prayerfully approach our use of AI with what the Scripture tells us. We are a unique species, we all are God’s wondrous creations on His palette of artistic strokes. Some of us are artists, others are mathematicians, athletes, pianists, etc.. AI can do that for sure, but not to the degree that we can in our humanity.  Below are some prayerful points to consider when using AI:

So what should I do?

Dear ones, my purpose in writing this article is not to tell you to disavow any technology movement, but rather use discernment. Look at what the smart phone has done to society. We see people being beaten up in the street and people record it rather than rush to help them. We see clips edited to only show one side of the story when clearly, there are more facts to be had to make a true judgement. Narcissism, so much narcissism is rampant on social media. Common decency and humanity has flown the coop. It is a good rule of thumb to remember, the more intricate the technology, the more Godly discernment is needed. I believe that President Trump, his cabinet and other leaders should approach this subject with Godly fear and trepidation because we are indeed living in precarious times. After all, this could be our modern day Tower of Babel that will be knocked down by God Almighty. I leave you with this advice: Turn off the computer, touch some grass and pray. After all the Scripture says, “f My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek, crave, and require of necessity My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14   Selah
