“I’ve noticed everyone for abortion has already been born.” — Ronald Reagan

Imagine this, you are on the trip of a lifetime. You see scenic views, you take in the majesty of the mountains, it’s just so breathtaking. As you continue your trek, you hear drums beating very loudly, you can’t see them yet, but you know they are drums. As you draw near to the sound of the noise, you see a drum line that is in full motion, next to them is a giant statue that is shaped like a bull. This peaks your curiosity, you must draw closer to the spectacle. As you come in contact with the ceremony, you see a massive fire in the belly of the bull that is sitting upright in a chair, his hands extended as if he is expecting a gift or sacrifice. Smoke fills the air, the drums beat and onerous music swells. You look to your left and see a mother with her newborn child in her arms, she walks forward as if in a daze. As she comes near the bull you want to scream, “It’s hot!” You stare in stunned silence as the mother places the child on the outstretched arms and walks away. You have to avert your eyes because you cannot believe that a mother could surrender your child in such a brutal way. You now understand why the drums are beating so loudly, they are to drown out the agonizing screams of the child as their flesh burned. What was once a good trip, was now an absolutely horrifying experience. You’ve just witnessed a primitive abortion ceremony to the god Moloch. It was a sacred act, to some healthcare because the mother cannot handle another mouth to feed. It was truly barbaric. That was Moloch.

Another story to ponder

A well loved and respected teacher was instructing a morality and ethics class, she gave the students 4 scenarios in which they needed to agree or disagree that abortion was necessary in these cases. They were as follows:

As the students looked on in anticipation, the teacher shared: “In the first case, you would have aborted John Wesley, one of the greatest evangelists of the 19th century, he was the 15th child. In the second case, you would have killed Ludwig van Beethoven. The man who gave us music that still exists to this day. The Moonlight Sonata, 9th symphony, tunes that have lived on well past his death. In the 3rd case, you would have killed Ethel Waters, the legendary singer of such songs as ‘Stormy Weather.’ Finally, in the 4th case, you just recommended aborting Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world.” Another sobering story to ponder.

A Personal Story

Now for the third story, it is a personal one. It involves me, dear readers. You see, I became a mother at the young age of 14. I was naive, so scared and not sure what to do. As I told my parents, they were devastated. My father had terminal cancer, he couldn’t work. They knew my dad’s time on earth was short, this was before great medical breakthroughs were not as good concerning cancer. My mother was his full-time care giver. We never once considered aborting my baby. As we started to tell the other family members, they all shared in their shock. How could this happen to one so young?

A well meaning family member suggested another option

One day, I had a well meaning family member pull me aside. She offered to take me and get an abortion. She said, “I’ll say I’m your mom, you can say you miscarried, problem solved!” Even in my addled 14 year old brain I emphatically said no. I remembered the Scripture that said, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you.” Even if the circumstances were less than ideal, this was a life and it needed to be protected. Did I receive pretty poor treatment from friends, family and my church? Yes. Was I told that my child would not amount to anything? Yes. It was hard to bear and hear. But God. You may be shaking your head. Why? But God? Because He made a way where there seemed to be no way so many times. This young man is now a college graduate, a high ranking member of the military, a husband, father and loving son and more than anything, a precious child of God that I cannot imagine being in this world.

Why all these stories?

I am recovering from the flu that knows no end. In that time of extended rest and pondering I’ve thought a lot about the state of our world and culture. Facts hurt people’s feelings, lies are now “my truth,” we have people rallying around a tragic circumstance of children mercilessly being killed. After that “copy cat” women are killing their innocent children. It’s just so much to bear. What is going on? Why have we taken leave of our wits? I recently  heard a pastor stand up in the pulpit and say that abortion is a sacred act! No! We serve that Father of Light who created us all with a purpose. It’s time to stand up church. Stand up for life, for truth and those who cannot speak for themselves.

Roe v. Wade has taken a staggering number of lives

In 1973 the landmark case of Roe v. Wade legalized abortion in all 50 states. Since this law was passed, over 64 million children have been aborted. Can you wrap your mind around that? In all of the wars that the United States have fought, roughly 12 million people have been killed. Abortion has killed 5 times more than those wars. During the Holocaust, 6 million people were killed, abortion has killed 10 times more than that. In 2022, the Dobbs case did strike down federal protection for abortion and sent that decision back to the states. Each state was given  their right to implement abortion policy. Some states banned abortion, others have doubled down on their abortions. Our culture is still fiercely debating this issue. Some go as far to have “abortion celebrations” others stating that abortion is healthcare. Many children in black and brown communities are the subject of this practice. The fight is intense, fiery and loud in some cases.

What does this have to do with morality and culture?

I’ve said it thousands of times, if we throw God out of the culture, the enemy wins. As He, the Creator of Heaven and Earth decreases in a society, lawlessness and sin increases. Motherhood is one of the most sacred gifts that God gave us, our Lord and Savior came forth from a woman. In the departure from God’s ways, we’ve gone the way of the enemy which leads to one path: lawlessness, selfishness and strife. How like the enemy to attack women. Proverbs 31 tells us a wise woman fears God and loves Him with all her heart. The world tells us to be a nasty woman, to scream, yell, dominate and shame men who are also God’s creation. The world tells us that abortion is healthcare, God tells us that He knitted us in our mother’s womb and that we are fearfully and wonderfully made. The thief comes to steal, kill and destroy. Jesus comes to give us life, and life abundantly. We’ve been thrown a huge lie for a long time dear ones, and it is time to step into The Way, The Truth and The Life.

The Word speaks for itself

Before you say, “You have no right to impose your morality on me!” No, I don’t. But I can give you God’s Word and what it says. Dear Ones, abortion is our modern day Moloch. Sure, we don’t have drums beating to drown out the cries of pain of the children literally being burned alive but we do have a modern day equivalent. A smattering of clinics that will barbarically snuff out the life of a little one in an instant. In some states up to birth! These little ones were all known before they were knit in their mother’s wombs. This absolutely has to wound our Father’s heart. He creates, the enemy destroys. Think about this for a moment, we have laws that expressly forbid us to hurt animals in this way. Yes, animals are also God’s creation, but we are His ultimate creation, made in His image.

We are living in a modern day Moloch

In our modern day Moloch, the searing of the conscience is drifting to children outside the womb. The Lindsay Clancy case brought out a whole new level of standing in solidarity with a woman who killed her 3 precious children. Women were posting vile things on social media. They were saying things like, “Same Lindsey!!” Others were pouring water on their kids, screaming at them, doing all manner of “solidarity acts” to show they supported her. You know, we’ve heard the term, “War on Women” used many times over the years. We blame it on the patriarchy, we blame it on toxic masculinity. Dear ones, the war on women is from Satan himself, he wants to destroy you. If he can’t get to you he’ll try to get to your child, husband, anything that causes you peace, he will take it in an instant. It’s time for the church, the women of God, to stand up. Think about it, who brought forth Jesus, the Savior of the word who has beaten hell, death and the grave? Mary. Satan is out to steal from us in any way possible.

It’s time to throw Moloch into the fire

I used to be silent about my feelings concerning life. I didn’t want to offend others, honestly, I still don’t. But our society is in the spiral of Moloch and God our Father cannot look away for much longer. What happened historically to societies that embraced Moloch? The blood cried out from the earth and God’s  judgment came. Look at the earth, look at what is happening, the earth, the blood is crying out. It’s time for us, the true church, to cry out. After all, history indeed does repeat itself.

A final thought

Dear ones, I know this was a heavy word. God has placed it on my heart for a while. I’ve told Him nope, nope, and nope more than once. Yet the message cried louder. I share with you in hope that you know that the Father of Life is calling us back to Him. If you’ve  had an abortion, don’t think that God is finished with you. He will absolutely come to you with open arms of love and forgiveness. Let He who gives life renew our minds in Christ Jesus, fill our hearts with love, and grant us peace. Selah
