While driving through town after dark looking at Christmas lights, we spotted one home that had somehow strapped a Christmas tree on top of their shed. I pointed it out to the girls and Ms Action announced that they must have put the Christmas tree “up high” to “ keep the baby from touching it.”

**********

It was leftover night. I suggested that the girls might like hot dogs and macaroni and cheese. Ms Action made it very clear (loudly I might add!) that she did NOT want hot dogs and macaroni, she preferred spaghetti. After one bite of her spaghetti, she announced that she now wanted hot dogs. When I reminded her that she had specifically requested spaghetti, she then complained that she did not have enough spaghetti on her plate, I knew that she didn’t really want the spaghetti in the first place so I suggested more cheese on top.

After a moment she whined for something else to eat and I told her that if she ate her spaghetti she could have the hot dogs. She then said she wasn’t hungry and got down from the table. After wrapping herself in a blanket, she sat sadly on the couch looking at me out of the corner of her eye now and then. After a while she sighed loudly and told me that the spaghetti had made her start coughing, and she needed the hot dogs to make her cough better. Sadly, that still did not convince Mom. She ended up waiting on food until our typical bedtime snack.

**********

I was in the middle of making pancakes for a weekend breakfast when I noticed that Ms Drama was missing. My husband went searching for her to deliver her morning cup of juice and found her sitting contentedly on the couch watching cartoons with my top secret bag of mini cadbury eggs in her lap and chocolate all over her face! According to him she did not even try to hide the chocolate, she just smiled and thanked him for the juice. He was laughing by then, and since there were only a few eggs left in the bag, he just left her there to enjoy them!

**********

We decided to eat out after a long day, and while we were in the car we discussed what types of food we would like to eat, Ms Drama announced that she wanted to eat beans. Ms Action told her that “Restaurants don’t have beans, they only have hamburgers, fries, chicken, yogurt and pancakes and pizza, but no beans.” So now you know what kind of restaurants we splurge on.

**********

At this same restaurant, Ms Drama got down from the table and said “I’ll be right back” when we asked her where she was going, she replied that she was going to the kitchen. I explained that only people that work for the restaurant can go in the kitchen, and then an elderly man sitting at the table next to us added that she would have to wear an apron and a hat if she wanted to go in there. Ms Drama patted her head, and looked down at her clothes, shook her head, and climbed back into her chair.
