Combatting Unhealthy Fear

Last updated on: July 29, 2025 at 9:47 am By Pastor Kelly M. Williams

Psalm 19:9 says, “The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever!” I have now lived fifty-four years. I have spent forty-five of those a follower of Jesus Christ. I have spent thirty-six of those preparing or serving as a pastor. I have spent twenty-eight of those at the same church in Colorado Springs, Vanguard Church, a Southern Baptist Affiliate. Here is what I know, I have never not been afraid about something or someone. Fear is real. Fear is... Read more

New Life Church Knew A 12 Year Old Was Abused

Last updated on: June 10, 2025 at 11:11 am By Pastor Kelly M. Williams

This past week Julie Roys from the Roy’s report published a story implicating several pastors, ministry leaders, and churches in the cover up or negligence of the horrific sexual abuse of Cindy Clemishire at age twelve, which lasted for four years at the unclean hands of Pastor Robert Morris at Gateway Church in Dallas. You can read Julie’s report here: https://julieroys.com/documents-jimmy-evans-new-life-elders-knew-robert-morris-abused-12-year-old-decades-ago/ This past Sunday Pastor Brady Boyd, whom I have known for eighteen years now, shared with the congregation... Your Age Is Not Just A Number

Last updated on: May 30, 2025 at 5:09 pm By Pastor Kelly M. Williams

Recently I turned fifty-four years of age. I have been a follower of Jesus Christ now for forty-five years. I have been a pastor of the same church, Vanguard Church of Colorado Springs, Colorado for the past twenty-eight years. All these numbers are more than numbers; they represent the faithfulness of God in my life as a person and in my ministry as a pastor. Fifty-four years represents the number of years I have been given so far to live... Read more

Identifying Visions and Dreams From God For Today

Last updated on: May 17, 2025 at 3:10 pm By Pastor Kelly M. Williams

How do you know when a vision or dream today is from God? First, you must believe visions and dreams from God are still for today. As a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary and a Southern Baptist Pastor for the past twenty-eight years of Vanguard Church in Colorado Springs, my tradition begs the question. And I can appreciate the caution, given the crazy that comes with this topic. But what does the Bible say? The Bible tells us that in... Read more

The Benefits with Jesus: “If you” not “F-you”

Last updated on: May 13, 2025 at 3:24 pm By Pastor Kelly M. Williams

God has benefits for your life that are dependent upon your choices. Your choices can release blessings for you from God “if you” do what Jesus asks you to do. But if you refuse, then those same blessings turn into curses, and “if you” sadly becomes “f-you”, you woe yourself. So many Christians by their own choices are woeing themselves today. Jesus told the disciples in John 14:15, “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” Those first two... Read more

Sins of Omission by Gateway Church Elder Board

Last updated on: March 18, 2025 at 9:03 am By Pastor Kelly M. Williams

Twenty-four years ago, in February 2001, I woke up at 1:23 am, I sat up in the bed, and I began to see images of Pastor Ted Haggard, at the time, Senior Pastor of New Life Church in Colorado Springs, images of him engaging in things that were not pleasing to the Lord. I was freaked out, to say the least. I’m a good Southern Baptist! I dismissed it. It kept occurring at 1:23 am until finally I told my... Read more

Last updated on: February 6, 2025 at 10:58 am By Pastor Kelly M. Williams

In 2019, Pastor Joel Osteen of Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas, hosted rapper, Kanye West on stage at one of his weekend services, so Kanye could declare himself, “the greatest artist that God has ever created.” Kanye went on to tell Pastor Joel and his church audience of tens of thousands and millions online and on television, “God Himself speaks directly thru me.” Kanye goes on to say, “All of that arrogance and confidence and cockiness that y’all see me... The Progression of Pastoral Destruction

Last updated on: February 4, 2025 at 11:54 am By Pastor Kelly M. Williams

As a 23-year-old at Dallas Theological Seminary my Professor John Hannah said to me and a few other members of a summer class, “If you want to be great for God, don’t quit, don’t fornicate, you will be the only one left, and you will be great.” As stunning as it was to hear those words for the first time, they have rung in my ears now repeatedly for the last thirty-one years. Twenty-eight years of those thirty-one I have... Read more
