A 30th Pagan Spirit Gathering Thank You!
Last updated on: June 28, 2010 at 12:00 pm By Star Foster
Folks I just got back from the 30th Annual Pagan Spirit Gathering at lovely Camp Zoe in Salem, MO. While there is going to be a lot of content on this extraordinary event in the upcoming weeks I wanted to take the time to say a quick thank you to some of the people who made the experience even more amazing for me. Arthur and Kathryn Hinds were extraordinarily kind, funny and friendly people. They made the 12 hour trip... Read more

Sacred Stones, Part 4
Last updated on: June 26, 2010 at 6:18 am By muninn
I didn't know, for the longest time, why I was so attracted to rocks, but I am. I pick them up everywhere. I think it has to do with the land wights - they live everywhere, so why not rocks? It makes sense to me that spirits should reside in stones. After all, they're a fairly indestructible thing to make a home. Read more

The Numbing Effect of Disaster
Last updated on: June 25, 2010 at 6:01 am By Star Foster
The oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico overwhelms me. I can’t comprehend the enormity of it. It’s too big. I feel helpless, angry, betrayed and lost. The fact that the Republicans apologized to BP is almost too absurd to take in. The Deepwater Horizon well is a relic of the Bush administration, and a sure sign of how little has changed since Obama was elected. We’re still in bed with Big Oil. We’re still bending over backwards to accommodate... Read more

God(s) As Father
Last updated on: June 23, 2010 at 6:36 am By Star Foster
While God(s) as Mother is an important aspect of Pagan religions, I find the most satisfaction and meaning in Pagan views of God(s) as Father. It’s been noticed by some of us that our relationships with our parents affect our relationship with the Gods. I’ve had a tumultuous relationship with my mother and don’t connect easily with Goddesses. My father was distant and often away from home, yet male Gods tend to call to my blood. Though I could not... Read more

13 Songs for Summer Solstice
Last updated on: June 21, 2010 at 6:59 am By Star Foster
My theme is fun fire/sun songs that make you want to sing along or dance. There is not particular order. Enjoy and Blessed Solstice to you all! 13. Acoustic cover of Prodigy’s Firestarter by Percy Creep I’ve fallen in love with the Percy Creep videos. 12. I’d Like To Know by Meg Hutchinson Simply because “I’m quick to love, quicker to tire. I’m looking for a slower burn, a better kind of fire” is a gorgeous lyric… 11. Elvis’ cover... Read more

Wyrd Designs: Nine Long Nights – a song
Last updated on: June 20, 2010 at 6:32 am By wyrddesigns
As a child, I recall playing on my swingset and created my own songs and lyrics on the fly. As a teen when I was attending church (when I’d rather be sleeping), the one part of the service I didn’t mind was the songs. I enjoyed singing, even if my own singing skills are less fantabulous than the Glee cast. When I converted into paganism, and later especially the Northern Tradition, I found myself missing the songs the most. Perhaps that why,... Read more
