My Beltane Pastlife Memory

Last updated on: April 26, 2010 at 5:27 am   By talogwitch

Do you believe in past life memories, I do, for when they occur they are more real than real! In the English county of Somerset there is an enigma known as the Glastonbury Tor, a man-made hill that holds deep and ancient significance, a place of great spiritual power that according to legend is the main portal into the world of the Fay. The actual reason for its construction is uncertain, though dating to the Neolithic it is thought by... Read more

Washington DC the New Rome? Pagan’s Opinion

Last updated on: April 25, 2010 at 6:11 pm   By Star Foster

I just finished Al Gore’s “The Assault On Reason”(via cd) and am once again astounded by the liberties that the Dubya administration took during their time in office. George W. Bush made the Oval Office powerful and inviolate in a way that would have made Nixon weep for joy. While listening the the litany of crimes recounted to me once again I couldn’t help but draw a comparison to the Roman Republic in my mind. The shift from Republic to... Read more

Empathy Over Universalism: Sharing Faith Without Compromising Values

Last updated on: April 24, 2010 at 8:53 pm   By Star Foster

I love Southern gospel. It is not unusual to find me belting out “I’ll Fly Away” behind the wheel of my car. No, I’m not Christian, but I can empathize with the feeling of faith that gospel music evokes. Recently in the comments of another post there was some discussion over Universalism and how disrespectful that worldview can be. To tell a Christian that Jesus is just Horus is as disrespectful as being told Odin is merely a foreshadowing of... Read more

Devotion is a Warrior’s Art

Last updated on: April 22, 2010 at 5:59 pm   By krasskova

I have always been attracted to the warrior arts. It is a deeply ingrained passion that over the years honed me and honed my spirituality. Picking up a sword for the first time when I began my study of Iaido as an adult was like coming home. Closing my hands around a Glock 9mm when first learning to shoot even more so. There is a peace in the warrior’s abode, a calm serenity unsought after, unexpected that comes as a natural consequence of the discipline and intensely powerful focus needed for mastery of these arts. Not for me when I became Pagan the Maiden, Mother or Crone. No, I instinctively knew myself to be drawn to a far different type of Goddess. This article explores the path of the Warrior Goddess as seen through my own experiences with the Goddess Sekhmet. Read more

Fierce Lillith: Adam’s First Wife

Last updated on: April 22, 2010 at 5:58 pm   By talogwitch

We all know the tale of woe regarding Eve the dutiful wife of Adam, who despite her best efforts at being a good and obedient wife still ended up with being given the blame for humanity’s eviction from the Garden of Eden. In my opinion she might just as well have been as wicked as her predecessor Lillith, Adam’s first wife, for poor Eve she could not have been judged and pronounced more guilty even if she had tried. All... Read more

The Meaning of Interfaith

Last updated on: April 21, 2010 at 8:57 pm   By krasskova

In addition to being a Heathen priest (or gythia), I have been an interfaith minister since 2000. I graduated from The New Seminary in New York City, the oldest interfaith seminary in the United States. Since graduation I’ve maintained ties to the school, mentoring students, at one time teaching, and working for the Interfaith Fellowship. Over the years, I’ve noticed several issues involving respect and contention cropping up repeatedly between polytheists like myself and the average interfaith minister. Because of my own background and experiences within the interfaith community, this article discusses some of those issues, focusing on working relationships between interfaith ministers, others committed to interfaith work, and those occasional polytheists with whom they may end up interacting. Read more
